Isn't that what SC guys are for? I am on X days. The caller ID also was a 800 number otherwise I would not have answered. Kinda sneaky if you ask me.

Just saying, I can see how your eyes can lie to you but the numbers don't. |
Since ACL seems to send us messages in his avatar, what would this say to the rest of us if this was his avatar?

Well it looks like eBay is about to get steamier. According to Der Spiegel, JAL management is fearing that many of the 1300 soon-to-be laid off and disgruntled F/A's may plan to sell their uniforms to fetishists. Although highly desired and popular amongst this societal 'segment', JAL uniforms, according to the article, had been very hard to come by. Apparently, this may not be the case anymore. |
Heyas,
ACL is on the mark regarding the effect of PBS. IT. IS. HUGE. and vastly underestimated. Just the month to month transition alone is close to a 7-8 percent staffing decrease. Throw in mil leaves, vacation, training and you start pushing 15 percent. Every trip dropped for a conflict...month to month, vacation, training, mil leave, HAS to be covered by someone else with a ton of pay protection going on. With PBS, all of these conflicts are SIDESTEPPED. For those with their math on MEL, that's close to 1900 pilots for a group our size. This came to a head back a few years at NWA when PBS schedules were getting VERY crappy due when the "zero open time" permitted by the BK contract started to go into effect. A couple of bright boys figured out that the pilots might still had some power to force a change, due to the ability for the NWA Computer Bidding committee to pull the plug and force the company to go back to line bidding. The company was scared. VERY scared. Quite a bit of internal turmoil from the "dont rock the boat crowd" (ya, NWA has them, too) and some grievances were getting warmed up when the problem resolved itself. The point is that any pilot group considering PBS needs to understand that if you control the on-off switch, you literally hold a knife at the companies staffing jugular. This can be worth it's weight in gold. Nu |

DAL Gang ... PWA question.
Do carry over trips effect the amount of time you can bid in the following month? For example, I have a carry over trip that pays / blocks 5:00 hours on April 1st. Will my April bid be reduced 5:00 hours from the ALV window? |
