Not true - if you have say, a 25 hours trip that is 15 hours flying and 10 hours credit - and it splits the months. The flying time ends up in whichever month it occured in, but the credit ends up in the second month.
It works that way for PBS too - PBS knows where the time ends up. How do I know - I ended up with a 9 day trip and a 10 day trip that started in the same month. The second trip had like 25 hours of credit that I got in the second month. For the Duty Day. Ala red eye that departs at 2355 on the last day of the month, and lands the next month is paid in the previous month. Better. I know what Sig and the rest are stating to be true. |

From the trim tab, this is long over due for being addressed:
When E.F. Pilot speaks, people listen… You're on the way out of the jetway and see the outbound crew standing around waiting to board, "Hey, good jet except for the auto-spoilers and the left pack." Seems innocent enough, but passengers might overhear the pilot-speak. This could lead to unnecessary confrontations and explanations. If you've got more than a thumbs up and "good jet," make sure you talk in a private area. |

Once again confidential that this very subject was discussed a few weeks ago on here. Interesting...... |
I like the comment link to issue you see with the NOTAMS. Nice

This ought to help us raise our 757 payrates.
Allegiant Travel Company to Purchase Six Boeing 757 Aircraft Company Plans to Say 'Aloha' to Hawaii Buzz up! 0 Companies:Allegiant Travel Company Related Quotes Symbol Price Change ALGT 52.91 -0.12 Press Release Source: Allegiant Travel Company On Friday March 5, 2010 LAS VEGAS, March 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Allegiant Travel Company (Nasdaq:ALGT - News) today announced it has signed a forward purchase agreement to acquire six Boeing 757-200 aircraft. *The introduction of the 757 aircraft will enable Allegiant to expand its leisure travel strategy into Hawaii with flights to be operated by Allegiant Air, LLC, its airline subsidiary. (Logo: *http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/...16/LATU102LOGO) Allegiant plans to take delivery of these aircraft and place them in service with Allegiant Air on the following schedule: Two aircraft delivered within the next two months to be placed into service in the fourth quarter of 2010 One aircraft delivered in November 2010 and another in January 2011 to be placed into service in the first half of 2011 Two aircraft delivered in the fourth quarter of 2011 with planned in-service dates in the first half of 2012 The six 757 aircraft are sister-ships and have been in service with a single European operator since original delivery from Boeing. The aircraft come equipped for extended twin-engine operations (ETOPS), as required for long overwater flights. Allegiant expects to spend between $75 to 90 million through 2012 acquiring and preparing this fleet for service. While Allegiant is able to acquire and prepare the aircraft for cash, it believes it will finance some portion of the purchase. Allegiant is acquiring this fleet with the express purpose of serving Hawaii, a major leisure destination that it cannot serve with its existing MD-80 fleet. Allegiant Air expects to launch service to Hawaii once appropriate regulatory requirements have been met. Allegiant CEO & Chairman Maurice J. Gallagher Jr. commented, "Hawaii is the most prominent U.S. leisure destination currently un-served by Allegiant and our small city customers have been requesting this service. *We are very optimistic about our ability to exploit the large third party ancillary revenue opportunity we believe exists in Hawaii. *We expect the sale of hotels, rental cars, and many attraction and activities popular with Hawaii visitors will provide a very meaningful contribution to the success of the service." "The 757 is a new aircraft type for Allegiant but we otherwise see this program as consistent with our existing business model," Allegiant President and CFO, Andrew C. Levy, stated. *"This transaction will enable Allegiant to extend to Hawaii its strategy of serving large leisure destinations from smaller cities with no existing nonstop service." Allegiant Air currently operates 46 MD-80 aircraft and the 757 program will not affect its MD-80 growth plans. Allegiant expects to have 54 aircraft in service by the end of 2010 – 52 MD-80 aircraft and two 757 aircraft. |
I carry my flight kit home and in my swagger wagon is the ATW article on Allegiant from this month but sadly it is too far and too cold to go get. But... well, I'll go get it.
Anyways, before I do, what I gather is Allegiant is what Skybus tried to be and thats the Ryan Air of the States. The difference that makes Allegiant work is instead of trying to be your average regional in the northeast they instead prefer to be like Cape Air, at least imo. They don't fly $5M B1900Ds doing feeder work for hire but instead they fly $200K C402s on day trips for themselves. And it works. Where they hurt Delta is they take away passengers that would've gone TYS-ATL-MCO and offer them TYS-MCO for $100 less. But if DAL decides tomorrow to go TYS-MCO then Allegiant leaves and finds another place where they have complete control over the market. They're there to make a buck and if they can't they move on. And fwiw, they're not on orbitz, they are cheaper but they do nickle and dime you and promote bundled packages to you for hotels and rental cars. They're apple vacations masquerading as an airline. Again, it works. btw, allegiant.com is a porn site, allegiantair.com is their site. Too funny. :D |

So as of right now we are in a 30-day month (not 31) and thus you and I lose 2-days this month for CQ so that only gives us 11 days per that chart in section 12 or at the front of the bid packet. From LOA 20: 13. Duration and Implementation Schedule This LOA will become effective upon its date of signing and remain in effect concurrent with the PWA subject to the following systems implementation timeline. In each instance where a provision requires programming changes, the parties agree to explore manual or interim implementation solutions with the goal of implementing such provisions as soon as reasonably possible. Section 23 D. 10., P. 7. a., T. 3. b. and Z. 4. a.-b. PBS changes: Rotations beginning in January 2011 bid period or earlier From LOA 20: Amend Section 23 Z. 4. a. and b. as follows: pay for the bid period.3. When a reserve pilot is scheduled for a known period of absence in the upcoming bid period, his X-days will be pro-rated for the absence under the chart in Section 12 N. 7. His reserve guarantee will be reduced by 1/30th or 1/31st for each day of the absence, and he will be paid the value of the absence in addition to any other pay for the bid period. Exception: X-days will not be prorated for a period of absence due to CQ training. Assume a 30-day bid period, with ALV = 75:00 and a reserve guarantee of 70:00 hours in the examples below. a. Example 1 - Pilot has seven days of vacation... b. Example 2 – Pilot is scheduled for four days of CQ training. Results: 1) Pilot receives 12 X-days. 2) Pilot’s reserve guarantee is reduced by 1/30th for each day of his CQ training (70:00 – [4 x 2:20]) = 60:40 adjusted reserve guarantee for the bid period. 3) Pilot is paid 4 x 3:15 = 13:00 for the CQ training in addition to any other From the PWA 23 Z 4. b. (I didn't include a.): 4. Upon implementation of PBS reserve bidding, when a reserve pilot is scheduled for a known period of absence in the upcoming bid period, his X-days will be pro-rated for the absence under the chart in Section 12 N. 7. His reserve guarantee will be reduced by the bid period.1/30th or 1/31st for each day of the absence, and he will be paid the value of the absence in addition to any other pay for the bid period. Assume a 30-day bid period, with ALV = 75:00 and a reserve guarantee of 70:00 hours in the examples below. b. Example 2 – Pilot is scheduled for four days of CQ training. Results: 1) Pilot receives ten X-days. 2) Pilot’s reserve guarantee is reduced by 1/30th for each day of his CQ training (70:00 – [4 x 2:20]) = 60:40 adjusted reserve guarantee for the bid period. 3) Pilot is paid 4 x 3:15 = 13:00 for the CQ training in addition to any other pay for |
