Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Have you ever worked at an airline that uses the standard airline pay method? You seem to be defending the current system but there are much better ways that dont cost us money.
Typically half guarantee (32-35 hours pay) on first check, second mid month check is remainder of guarantee plus overs or whatever you're owed if less than guarantee for line holders on min schedule + per diem.
Works well for every other airline in the country
The current method only lets the company hold on to OUR money longer while they reap the benefits and we lose. The current pay system is a concession. I agree there are other things to fix also but why sell ourselves short?

For the first month yes, but what you state would only be true if you were paid once a month. The money is going out on a uniform cycle so they are not holding money any longer one way or another.
You would divide your money up under the system you talk about differently but after a month the cash flow out the door is the same.
I know what you are stating, and I see the merit in a divided guarantee, but since it has been done this way for 20+ years, there is no savings to the company. They pay out more in the mid month check and therefore you could argue that their cash reserves are depleted more. It is six of one half dozen of another.
Not picking side of this argument, but a have good knowledge in cash flow on payment systems and the ones I have seen gain no significant money by doing our way. Most of the time that money is not in the account until shortly before payroll is made.
But I NEVER heard a single person complain how ALPA was handling greivances or other contract related issues in all the years I was at NWA.
NOT ONE.

Lets see the result of the Special MEC meeting before that point is set in stone. Let your reps decide if these are worth the fight.

When I think of the horrific bloody battles we could be having right now, its pretty encouraging that this paycheck issue has generated so many posts over so many days.
Not usually a union or mgmt cheerleader, but I have to give credit where credit is due.
NWALPA, DALPA and the flight ops integration guys all deserve a lot of praise.
