As to your "point"....
You predicted furloughs. We're hiring.
You complain about displacements when everybody else was furloughing. We didn't furlough, and you got substantial pay increases and merger equity out of the deal.
You complain about the consequence of being out of seniority (junior) in a senior seat. The airline moves bases and planes all the time, even prior to the merger. See Scoop's post for the 10 south bases that closed over the last 20 years. Didn't ASA and CMR close a few as well?
Bottom line, you don't have a point. You have a whine!
Sink R8 nailed it!

Here's the DOT's logic on the Haneda slot awards. Thanks to the f-nwa side who appear to have brought the tools to the table to score this:
Los Angeles is the largest U.S. West Coast market for Tokyo flights, and Delta would serve more passengers from the city with Boeing Co. 747s than American with smaller Boeing 777s, Susan Kurland, a department assistant secretary, wrote in the decision. Chicago-based United, the No. 3 U.S. carrier, had sought service from San Francisco.
‘Strong Hub’
Delta’s service is the best option in the central U.S. because Detroit is a “strong hub” for Asian service and offers good connecting service, Kurland wrote. Michigan and Ohio have “extensive industrial relationships with Japanese companies.”
American’s flights from New York’s Kennedy airport offer “greater public benefits” than Continental’s from Newark because they would boost alliance competition, Kurland wrote.
Delta’s SkyTeam and United and Continental’s Star alliances “hold significant positions” in the U.S.-Asia market compared with American’s Oneworld, the decision found.
Hawaiian would boost competition as a new entrant in the Tokyo-U.S. market, Kurland said.
Houston-based Continental, ranked fourth in the U.S. by traffic, and its Micronesia unit filed for routes from New Jersey’s Newark Liberty airport and Guam.
Atlanta-based Delta, the world’s largest airline, also applied for Haneda flights from Seattle and Honolulu.
Hawaiian proposed a second daily flight from Honolulu, where the carrier is based.

Yeah... and they're a sympathetic bunch ... . Maybe it is because they haven't gotten two pay cuts in a row with 3 visits to the schoolhouse in a year.
It will come around. I'm just surprised at the net block hours constantly being pulled out of Atlanta on everything but the MD88. When you walk up E Concourse in the afternoon 2 out of 3 jets is a A330 or 747. DC8 is right, seems like they would staff that time out of ATL.

Forgot to bids brain hurts.
Question, bears, beets, battle star galatic?
Second question, we roughly would gain 83 slots overall if the slot swap went through, right? If we got 100% of those slots at mainline, how many jobs could that be, hypothetically speaking of course? And if we do divest, then does that mean with a 100 slots we decide a 9 goes to ROA over a CRJ200?
Third question, how long til ATL approach starts to realize you don't tell a DC9 to go direct to a fix?!? You tell a fix to go direct to the 9.
And New, twice this week I got a DC9 wake sandwich, that thing puts out!!!
And I've got to apologize, never in my wildest dream did I ever think we'd get 2 HND slots, I swore 0. But the DOTs logic seems a lot more concrete than the LGA/DCA slot swap ruling. If it's a concession then great job DOT, you're half way there, authorize our swap as we have suggested.

question one: MICHEAL!
2. above my paygrade and let's just default to RJ's and hopefully be pleasantly be surprised.
3. That's not DC-9 wake. That's a DC-9 captain that has eaten a burrito.
As far as the "putting out" comment, I am barely restraining myself from something with the phrase "your mom."
4. I was pleasantly surprised as well! Oh, and by the way, DOT... we're still taking you to court. Hopefully we have a better showing than with Mesa. That was old school bubba idiocy right there....
Also, DC-9 pilots can frequently, and successfully, divide by 0.
Actually, I think just New can do that. Remember that scene in The Matrix where Keanau Reves finally realizes he's "the one" and flexes his muscles and the walls bend? Yeah, that was New, 10 years ago.
Yo, Ferd, you probably know why. End of a 4 day, came home, fired up the tivo.
That's Awesome Nu!
