FYI. -- NewK made the hole when he sneezed.

I think the hole is just to show the max angle NewK can fly an ILS approach

NewK doesn't have to do green page engine out procedures. He drills through the earth to clear a path.

That's why I like the idea of your first day of reserve automatically being long call. I have suggested it to the LEC as a contract improvement for next time.

That would be a good start. We also have to work on the 12/24 hour SC, as well as the ability to plan when we are put on SC. I like the idea of being flexible and dynamic, but lately the scheduling sounds more and more like the outsourced CAL dude....

Thanks Scoop. If I put in a PD today for the 9th, how far in advance do they work the request?

Gnewt

I believe both the PD and the APD will be run with PCS three times a day until it either goes through or it times out.

Look kids, China. :D

Looks like one of those holes made by the Silver Surfer indicating 8 days until the end of the World. Looks the the Mayans were pretty close with their 2012 prediction. :)

No they didn't. They said to use discretion with the more sensitive info. Big difference.

Not giving a blow by blow would be all info. Same thing as using discretion on "sensitive" info.

Point was that they want more discretion in the public medium. No more no less.

A huge sinkhole in Guatemala City (map), Guatemala, crashed into being on Sunday, reportedly swallowing a three-story building—and echoing a similar, 2007 sinkhole in Guatemala.
The 2010 Guatemala sinkhole has likely been weeks or even years in the making—floodwaters from tropical storm Agatha caused the sinkhole to finally collapse, scientists say.
The sinkhole appears to be about 60 feet (18 meters) wide and about 30 stories deep, said James Currens, a hydrogeologist at the University of Kentucky.

I know of no full "blow by blow" write-ups. All the LCP/AQFOs on here used discretion in their write-ups and did not put down any of the more sensitive info that was disseminated.

That was my point.

I'm going to add this point, though. I think a lot of our performance issues may have to do with how the rampers are managed also. I don't think increasing pay alone is the answer. SWA rampers start at about $10 to $11 per hour which is about what our rampers make. Yet, they bust their butts to get the planes out. A place like JFK, maybe the rampers don't care because they don't feel like they have a vested interest in the company. They probably run the ramp understaffed as it is. I'm not sure what the answer is because I don't work on the ramp, but I think just increasing salaries alone is not the answer and probably won't fix the problem. I think Richard Anderson should be on the show "Undercover Boss." Maybe he could figure out the answer!

Another good point. If I were King of Delta, the first thing I'd do is shoot myself in the head because I'd be stuck in a desk job. The second thing I'd do is authorize a compare - contrast study with CVG and both DTW and JFK. What is it that's right about CVG that we can export to our problem hubs?
