Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I just wanted to make one post that was after 80's.
So will I. Let your position be know to your reps!
If management has done something that requires the parking of 68 jets or us flying those 68 jets, then what is there to negotiate? Nothing!
They will come screaming and crying, and there is only one response to that. We've made plenty of negotiationg screwups over the years and they have shown zero pity to us. Why would you even remotely suggest that we do similar?

Not trying to call you out on this, but I read it a lot, and it doesn't make sense. What input do you need to give to your reps? That you think Scope is important? Do you trust your reps? I trust mine, and have been assured by them with every contact that they hold Scope above all else. They remind me that Scope givebacks were done under duress. I expect my reps to attend meetings, ask questions, listen to the other reps, and make good decisions. I expect the chairman to get my reps the information, keep them focused on the issue, and then do what they tell him to do. My reps are all out flying the line today, but they seem to have a good understanding of the gravity of this situation. If you want to make all the decisions, run for office. I'm sorry for the bluntness; I'm a little fried from a long crossing.
As you may recall, on the South side we have a history of our MEC Chair filing a grievance and resolving it without a whole lot (AKA any) input. In retrospect his position was reasonable, but he acted as the Lone Ranger and with something like this, I expect he would do the same.
Again, there is no way this deal went down without ALPA's knowledge. This knowledge might not have gotten distributed very far, but we have a Pilot Director's who had a fiduciary duty to know if divisions of the Company were being sold and a long history of a "partnership with management" which has been mutually beneficial. ... they knew.
Now they hope it will all blow over. No one likes the flow. No one wants to cost the Company a bunch of money.
So then what do we want?
As in, we don't control section 1 or 6 from our home computers. DALPA does. What is a pass/fail on DALPA's part here? I'm not saying what do we hope will happen, just what is and isn't acceptable.

As a Delta pilot I want to see more Delta pilots. As an ALPA member, I want to see ALPA members taken care of.
Give at least the current Compass & Mesaba pilots Delta ratio seniority numbers at the bottom of the list. That fixes the issue of the future flow (by killing it for future hires) and fixes the issue of promises made to the current pilots.
Numbers also protect current Delta pilots.
Unity also protects management by redistributing longevity costs. If the Compass / Mesaba guys don't want the deal, they can opt out.
If Delta pilots could flow down off certificate, there is no reason why our former partners in this flow agreement can not enjoy flowing up across certificates.

It's time for us to get that 70 seat flying back.
Let us sing kumbaya this evening, and let management read these words:
Scope is not for sale. No penny, no rig, no retirement contribution can change this fact. Not one more seat. Not one more jet. We will not allow another airplane to be flown by someone who does not wear the double breasted, hat wearing, widget thong donning uniform.

Um, thong?
Those look like they hurt. I'm not into pain.
