Buzz,
You are too kind.
Hiring wave until 1991 - DAL hires right up until furloughs.
Hiring wave until 2001 - DAL hires right up until furloughs.
Hiring wave until 2008 - DAL hires and does not furlough......yet.
I would say our record is "mixed" at best in this regard.

I seem to recall, and I could be wrong, that in 2001 we had already stopped hiring, we're down to our last two classes in July of 01. Didn't announce furloughs until after 9/11 happened. I was in that first group of 400 and that seemed to me how it went down.
Any hoo, back to studying recurrent systems....
On a completely different topic...does anyone know if you can get a refund on an unused buddy pass? A friend of mine tried to get out of LA today and had no luck, so she paid for a seat on another carrier. If a buddy pass is issued but not used, any chance for a refund for her?

You are 100% correct on that one. To be fair, I should not have included the 9-11 furloughs, but my point is that a quick change in the hiring posture would not be unheard of.
If you are studying for the 737 recurrent please share any insights via a PM when complete.

TenYearsGone,
Maybe you could volunteer to be the recon man in the Aug 2 recall class. I'm thinking the junior APC crowd could use some info like: total recall numbers, new hire numbers, and flow numbers. Also when the classes will run through. Oh, and where all you "senior" guys are heading (I recommend you stay off the Maddog).
