Well, maybe so, but when the aircraft is sweltering and the crew has called for it twice, wouldn't you think they might want to hook it up? And, btw, the jetway wasn't all that sweet smelling and cool either. Besides, hooking the air up to the jet is procedure, not at some ramper's discretion, so that's really beside the point and misses the issue completely. Bottom line: when its 94 in Detroit, hook up the freakin air. Do I really need to take over the airline and make this happen or is that, by nature, fairly intuitive? Sheesh, some of you guys scare me.

I'm hearing big & positive. Only hint of possible negativity is SLC 767 being converted to 7ER.

Agree to disagree and move on.

Fly,

Not to worry - it is just the normal ebb and flow of this thread. It happens ever couple of months or so and then an interesting or important issue will pop up and the thread takes on a different tone.

FWIW there is nothing wrong with disagreement, and even some level of overly enthusiastic posting is generally OK. Remember, this is an anonymous web board. If you keep that in mind, and consider we just concluded the worlds largest airline merger, I don't think we are doing too bad. :)

PS - Thanks to your avatar the best I can ever hope to be is the 2nd most interesting person in the world. :)

Agreed Scoop.

Given the enormity of this merger, I am utterly impressed that we can have civil conversation about anything. It is going extremely well for flt ops.

Of course you are 100% right - I should have been a bit more specific. I'm not in any way making excuses for the rampers not hooking up the air - there is no excuse except laziness on the part of some of the ramp personnel. Just passing on a tidbit that I learned about some of the jetways. That's all

Yes, and don't you dare even think about it. :)

I'm glad that you at least signed this as a rant.

None of us northies blame southies for any of this. We northies know that you guys are just line pilots like the rest of us. Mostly we're just dejected that even the smallest change takes a very long time, and that management seems to have the idea that if it wasn't invented in ATL, then it ain't happening.

None of that is a south guy's fault, and none of us are saying that.

Carl

Ugh, just when I thought you were going to say something that wasn't decisive. There you go again.

Carl. You've been around the airlines a very long time, yet you go and say something so rookie that I can't ignore it this time. You expect change to happen when you snap your fingers or even in a few months? Really? Is Carl actually a rookie RJ FO? Not to mention the airline you work for now is well over 2 times the size of any carrier you've worked for in your past.

You know better than that.

So I'm moving the family to ATL. Where do you guys recommend living? Is peachtree city as good/bad as everyone says? Fayetteville too redneck? Roswell/Marietta too uppity? Any and all opinions and info welcome.

Background: Invader from the north looking to get into ATL soon :p 2 small kids that will be in the public schools in a few years. Wife's job is on the SE side of the city so we're looking to minimize her commute. Budget: FO pay, I hate big house payments :D

Fire away!!!

Check out Newnan. You can become a Newnanner and sing from their favorite native son "way down yonder on the chattahoochee it gets hotter than a hoochie coochie we layed rubber on the Georgia asphault..."

how do you spell these words?

or AUO.
