Not in my cockpit. I don't get paid enough to willfully violate company policy for THEIR convenience. I get paid by the minute. They want me to stop to put the numbers in, I'll stop, regardless of where I might be or how long it takes to get 'er done.
The first time someone has a runway incursion, or nicks a wingtip on something, if you think DAL will give the WINK, WINK because you were inputing FMS data on the roll, you're kidding yourself.

I think the FO could safely enter the numbers while the Capt is taxiing, but not without a policy change.
Next AE should be posted tomorrow and it is POSITIVE bid. Happy bidding. ya'll. I believe we will like what we see.
Kids these days...
I know a better fix to this rube goldberg abomination of our procedures tryin to do what fNW procedures did extremely efficiently:
Block out time is when all the doors have closed on the plane. The beacon and the parking brake have no bearing.
Tada! D0 problems fixed, no flashing beacons long after we've parked, and we can do our numbers at the gate the way the current checklist design is optimum.

so i had a Captain who had his own procedure, knowing this was coming, and that was to push thrn get the numbers. Suggested not to but he is the Captain. So we push. No numbers. Called. No numbers. Called. No numbers. Called. You're overweight, we've got to unload 40 of 80 bags from previojs nights cxld flight.
That said, the current system is not working in many instances and Im fine with new procedures but I'm also concerned the numbers will take a long time still.

The flight should be closed out earlier...shouldn't have overweight problems not with the tech available today.
