I hear he still requests that from the flight attendants!

Ferd likes to drink his milk from the tap!

Now I know where the storyline from the Buddy Love video came from....Ferd.

I think two weeks should be the norm. What's the rush closing it in one week when they have 210 days to train and convert?

For those that haven't seen the email yet, the extension is due to the fact that crew resources was telling pilots (myself included) that if your freeze expires on Oct. 1, 2010 then they would not be eligible to bid on this AE. Apparently the company and MEC felt this was a serious enough mistake to extend the window for a week.

I agree with you, what's anoter week? I'm glad they are watching stuff like this.

For all you young folk (ACL) an 8086 was a computer chip whose first generation was derived to run a drill press. You may know it's younger offspring as the Gazillion Core Intel. I think I could fly the bid request to Japan on a 12 day trip, leave them with an elderly Japanese lady with an abacus, fly back with the results, faster than Delta's super "Tiger Direct" clearance compute used to process these bids.

The way I understand it is that the computer actually finishes them up pretty quick. (as you would assume).

But then the union checks them by hand for accuracy, and that takes some time. I dunno if that's true, just what I heard.

Lein,

Does the system lock you out from bidding when you have a freeze, or are you still able to put in AE choices?

Why was that a mistake? If the awards came out before Oct. 1st, wouldn't you have been frozen?

I know there were a lot of guys that regretted bidding a certain piece of equiment, and had October 1st freezes that they were sweating big time, based on the timing of this award.

I don't mind the union asking the company to move an award slightly to help guys out, but I don't like it to be marketed as a mistake, if it isn't a mistake.

If I'm missing something, let me know. Thanks.

Unless of course they were telling people they couldn't bid SLC 7ER A or B based on a freeze, in which case there was indeed a mistake.

Atlanta hotels

Anybody know of a good hotel in ATL for a commuter type layover. Thinking of deviating at the end of my next rotation, but would need to spend the night in ATL before going home in the morning. Any PM's with info would be much appreciated.

No. You can still put your bids in the computer under a seat lock.

How about a monthly bid with a 60-day conversion window? How about block and reserve being separate categories with full MD rights? If we are going to fix the system, no point in going forward 40 years when we can go the full monty.
