There won't be much movement on this bid. I suspect there will not be a lot of backfilling of vacancies. Not heading into the winter season. Salt Lake City will end up much more senior. I predict only about 60 of the currrent SLC 767 captains will end up SLC 7ER captains.

Panic mode selector - ON for Delta West.

Just heard from a friend who's friend has a buddy in crew resources.
The intel is - the way people are bidding half of the current SLC767 drivers in both cats will not be able to hold SLC7ER.

That would not surprise me one bit.

I don't know who your friend knows but you can go to DBMS and it has a function that tells you how many people senior to you have a bid in for a certain seat. I would currently be 79 out of 98 in the SLC domestic 767 category and there are only 65 people senior to me with bids in for the SLC 7ER category. So if the bid closed today my seniority would actually be better than the dometic seniority.

Doesn't that just count AE's? You've got to factor in displacements.

Check E taught me this (I think:)). Don't forget to factor in the chance that pretty much all the current domestic side in both seats probably will only bid an MD into the SLC 7ER category vice an AE and so are not listed on the page that shows people senior to you. You may not be as senior as you think!:D

So that would mean that the guys that are getting bumped will end up back in the seats, which is counter to what the original post was saying. If I remember correctly MD's come before AE's right? I'm not in the category or bidding it. I'm just trying to figure out how many are coming East!

Guys,

This is a net positive bid. If guys are coming from all over the system to bid SLC - then there will plenty of positive movement elsewhere. SLC may go more senior, but only if other bases go more junior. Or am I missing something?

If you cancel out the two disruptive events (the SLC 767 displacements and the new SLC 7ER category), you're left with relatively few new WB positions. And I think those are only there to allow displaced SLC 767 people from creating secondary displacements. IOW, they'll let them go where they want, and allow those categories to be slightly larger.

What about the spots vacated by those who displaced those in SLC? This still leaves us with a net positive which equals the new positions.

I still don't believe the doom and gloom that Southies are predicting in SLC.
