Ae Help

I am curious if someone has a list or can tell us where all the newhires are going starting with the first class in Aug. This could make a big difference on my choices for the ae is it could be the diff between line and reserve in certain bases and cat. Also in the list, could you please specify how many are recall as they will be senior to those of us down here on the bottom. Thanks in advance.:)

P.S. I realize that it was probably once posted on here, but for lack of my own capability I can't find all the info.

I've been looking for the same info. Of course they'll be able to move around on this ae as well so it'll be a moving target.

As I recall, many if not most, were going to mspm88b with a few going to various 9, 88, and 320 spots in msp, dtw, atl, and NYC.

Johnson or ftb: either of you guys keep a more accurate tally?

ATLANTA (Reuters) - Delta Air Lines Inc (NYSE:DAL - News) said on Tuesday that it expected higher unit revenue for the third quarter as travel demand continues to show signs of rebounding, and its shares rose more than 4 percent.

The world's biggest airline said in a federal filing that it expected passenger revenue per available seat mile, an important measure, to rise 15 percent for the quarter.

Load factor, or the percentage of seats filled, is seen at 83 percent for September and 86 percent for the third quarter, consistent with a year earlier, Delta said in the Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

That compares with a load factor of 86.5 percent for the month of August.

Atlanta-based Delta projected operating margin, excluding profit-sharing expenses, of 12 percent to 13 percent for the quarter. That compares with 11.4 percent reported in July for the second quarter, when savings from the 2008 acquisition of Northwest Airlines partly offset profit sharing and other costs.

Airlines are beginning to recover after two years of decreased travel demand. Capacity cuts have allowed carriers to trim costs and lift fares.

Shares of Delta rose 4.3 percent to $11.12 in morning New York Stock Exchange trading after the airline disclosed the update. Most other airline stocks were also up, and the Arca Airline index (AMEX:^XAL - News) gained 0.8 percent.

I'm going to take an excerpt from an article about the UPS 747 accident and its not for the sake of arm chair quarterbacks and I'm not certain anyone could be one here anyways because there isn't much information and this is big boy aviation where we don't do that. I just want to make certain there is an awareness of this accident that probably will not be reported much on this thread or the major forum.

This is out of Aviation Week and Space Technology's article "UPS Crash in Dubai" by Max Kingsley-Jones 13SEP2010.
  1. The 747 departed Dubai for Cologne at 6:53pm,
  2. Around 20 min after takeoff at 7:15 they informed Bahrain that they were returning to the airport because of smoke in cockpit and the fact they could not maintain altitude,
  3. They did not seek to land at another airport in the region,
  4. Once at Dubai, they were issued a clearance by UAE ATC about 22nm from touchdown,
  5. The 747 was "high on the approach" at 8500' and 13nm from touchdown,
  6. 747 flew over the airport "very high" and turned right, the UPS crew was told by ATC all runways available for landing,
  7. As the 747 tracked southwest it lost altitude rapidly and all contact was lost at 7:42 about 50 min after takeoff.

Here are the drops from what has been posted on the forum. The drop for the 9/6 class was revised, but this should be the revised drop.

Just remember, some categories are running a high percentage of reserves right now. Last I heard it was @ 35% for MSP 88B, and about 30% for NYC 88B.

This one I guess is aimed right at ACL, what about the CRJ1000 at mainline?

I know its "still an RJ" and not the mainline looking machine that the E190/E195 is, but I'm sure it can be had relatively cheap for a new aircraft and its almost a 100 seater so it could make a DC-9-30 replacement?

And sure its long, but frankly, think of how much quicker could we board an aircraft if valet baggage was the only option. You want D0, valet baggage the right way, drop it here and it'll be here at your destination. I'm sure a long term ownership wouldn't be a goal, but at the right rate and arrangement it could be mighty nice even though it comes in list price at about 5x a used MD90.

Just a left field thought as a read about the DOT's antics: "Deutsche Bank analysts say the rejection (of the Delta and Virgin Blue ATI request) was unexpected, as the Australian government had OK'd the deal and Virgin Blue management had been quite bullish on the prospects of the approval... In stark contract to the [DOT], the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission found sufficient consumer benefits to approve the joint venture." Hmmm.

Some say Newk’s extraordinary confidence began at birth, when he congratulated the Doctor on a perfect delivery.

In JR High, while abroad, he explained how jelly fish stings could be neutralized with vinegar – in perfect Italian.

In high school, he used his knowledge of storm cells and tornadoes and saved the Newbergh Prep cheerleading squad after he explained they’d be safe in a low lying depression.

After high school, he applied to Princeton, for the position of Dean.

On a whim, he applied to Northwest Airlines, to fly the 747, they instead offered the DC-9, the only real man’s machine on property capable of containing his energy and attention.

For Newk, he understood that with knowledge comes confidence.

Some say Ferd’s extraordinary bravado began at birth, where he requested the nursing students to breast feed him at the top and bottom of every hour.

In JR High, while abroad with friends, he explained to a young Italian girl, who had just been healed of a jelly fish sting, how she could twist him into a pretzel.

In high school, he used his knowledge of storm cells, tornadoes, bullhorns and circuit breakers, to give him the right amount of time with the nervous Newbergh Prep cheerleading squad in the storm shelter, on a clear and beautiful day.

After high school, he applied to Ole Miss, for the position of perpetual freshman.

As an adult, he applied to Northwest Airlines, to fly the 757, because it was the only narrow-body with oversized engines.

For Ferd, he understood that with confidence you could ask a girl for directions, to her heart, and actually get somewhere. Even if she knew better.

Man is that ever funny! But a slight revision is necessary. You say:

"Some say Ferd’s extraordinary bravado began at birth, where he requested the nurses to breast feed him at the top and bottom of every hour."

I hear he still requests that from the flight attendants!
