Glad everyone is safe. Good job by the crew. :)

If I am in a category with reductions, but have more people below me than the number of reductions, how does that work? Can people being displaced from other categories that are senior to me bid over and bump me out?

Yes they can. If you are junior in any category it is best to have some mandatory displacement bids in. With the amount of upward movement in this bid it is unlikely, but possible. It is also possible for people senior to you in your category to take a voluntary displacement and "save" someone junior.

Widebody Captain openings create a huge amount of movement in the company. Remember to bid what you want--even if there are no slots listed on the AE--you just might get it.

...or someone senior to you in a different category take a VD into your category and bump you out. It cuts both ways. Always best to have some backup choices listed.

Not really sure how the format would change, personally I don't think interference charges would apply unless the company exhibited some undue, threatening pressure towards the FA group to vote against the union.
From everything I've seen, it looks as though all the company did was express the importance of voting versus not voting in this election.
Not being a legal expert here in union matters, but I really don't think they have much to stand on.

I think the AFA/IAM was counting on a large majority of "No" voters not realizing that they had to vote one way or the other if they wanted their vote to count.
I think the fight was contentious to get the voting rules changes because either side thought one process versus the other would work to their advantage.

Its possible for you to get bumped. It would however be highly unlikely since this was a overall positive bid by a big margin. If you do not have displacement preferences in the computer and get bumped you go to the next lowest category in your base. That may or may not be what you want and if you are already there you would get bumped to another base. Put in a couple of options in your mandatory displacement page just in case.
If you desire to move to something else then make sure you have things in your advance entitlement page. Just be aware that sometimes strange things happen and people get bids they did not expect and have buyers remorse. In addition as a general rule your voluntary displacement page should mirror your advance entitlement page.

Anybody know why a trip in open time would show both positions A & B staffed versus being empty?

Is it a qualified trip in open time? IE is someone trying to drop it so it goes in open time?

I thought that a REG trying to Drop/Swap a trip would only show up on the ecrew swap board.

I didn't think lineholders were allowed to just drop a trip into open time.
