Just read Moak's letter.....I have not kept up with the lawsuit, but I hope we are bringing the thunder down on the Gov't!!! This is ridiculous!!!

Parts of the letter are already in the press. Interestingly, they didn't mention any of the legal issues, only pay.

I just did. I have no idea what "treats" you got out of that... it looked like a lot of gloom and doom to me... unless you work for United.

We need to think about that.
Bringing "constructive engagement" to the national level is a big departure from the traditional form of labor relations in this country. The problem is that it relies so heavily on management being a good faith partner.
Wave of the future or lambs to the slaughter?

I do not equate "constructive engagement" to bending over. I take it as a dialogue between two parties that is two way and is rational. Rational does not mean accepting less, but it does mean being realistic and not irrational for the sake thereof.

Engaging does not mean compromising or to settle. It means to look at multiple paths to an end goal that all pilots desire. It means hearing the other side (management etc) out and then fact checking their position. To me it is amazing what happens when one just listens even if they know the position is totally wrong! :D

We can say that about restoration, work rules, retirement, lobbying that benefits our labor group etc.

What constructive engagement does is allows us the option to opt out at any given time. The void of this engagement will not go unnoticed. It forces both sides to be rational in their approach because both sides will be harmed in the end without it.

FWIW, this is not support of a person or candidate, this is support of the idea.

What I was specifically referring to is that 1) We are as labor calling out a labor friendly administration on something that will no doubt cost growth and opportunities for you and I at this corporation. 2) That this administration is identifying and communicating threats to our jobs. Not threats of just present day, but actions that will effect us as we morph in to a society that allows foreign ownership of our airlines.

Well, yes... but feel free to refute it if you have numbers. Overall RJ numbers are way down, and the big RJ numbers are capped. Are you disputing that?

Hopefully, someone knows how to dig up the numbers on that. It should be relatively easy to find DCI block hours, number of aircraft, number of pilots, etc. prior to the date Lee Moak took office and compare it with those same numbers today. I honestly don't know where to find that data.

All I know is I have seen a massive explosion in the number of RJ's on the ramps, expansion in the number of gates they occupy, and the replacement of city pairs that used to be exclusively or almost exclusively served by mainline and are now exclusively or almost exclusively served by RJ's.

Maybe my eyes are deceiving me, but the numbers should tell the story. You just have to make sure you are using numbers that tell the whole story, not just part of it.

That is all very sweet.. and I appreciate that LM has the stones to stand up and write about this. But again I will ask.. .WHERE IS PRATER IN ALL THIS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Oh, that's right, he has a clear conflict of interest. Hmmmmm interesting that that is only identifyable when it is an issue that comes between 2 legacy carriers. I still don't see any "treats" though.

Great non-rev experience, managed biz class both ways, epic good time in Munich. Had to fly in to Stuttgart, plus a 2 hour train ride, but the price was right.

The number of hulls is decreased. Delta publishes those number under the Marketing section of DALnet.

ASM's has gone up in the short term, but will be going down now as they cannot replace 50 seat jets for 76 seat jets.
