Just remember...........this ain't Herb's airline anymore. What I wouldn't give to hear what he is saying about the move into DEN, ATL and ANYWHERE in NYC.

Ferd <----------off to see if I can find his 60 minutes interview with Leslie Stahl. Had it memorized once-a-pon-a-time for my SWA interview:D

PS
Oh well.........searched the 60 Minutes site and nothing. Basically, Leslie asked him to respond to critics who said SWA did well because they didn't have to de-ice or fly into/out of major metro airports. He responded with, "yeah, and what's your question?"

I'll just add to the bottom line that everyone else has pointed out.............They are just another freek'en major airline now.

Everybody who is paying any attention knows that.. but to the consumer they are still perceived as an LCC and "THE lowfare airline"

I'm in! :D

It's time to put all the N vs. S stuff behind us and move forward as ONE group.

Me Too!:D

I can't wait until I hear the first SWA call sign in ATL and the local controller say "Uh, you wanna do what?";)

The flying public is getting smarter about SWA. I hear more and more comments about how expensive they are now. It's very common to find lower fares elsewhere and people are slowly figuring that out.

until they throw a pizza party for the atl controllers! :)

All that will get them is controllers with heartburn. SWA can forget on opposite direction departures & arrivals, & don't even think about the inner runway because it ain't happening.

Flew my first domestic trip out of LAX this week. In our brief, I told my Capt that "the bad news is, I haven't been to ATL in over a decade." So, as we were flying in, his classic comment was, "the controllers will want to fly your airplane, let them as there is nothing you can do about it":D

ATL, what an operation! Reminded me of the old terminal in DTW, only on steriods:eek:

Yeah, its eye opening, ain't it? I remember, fresh out of the Air Force, my first operational flight was as an MD-88 FO from ATL to LGA. Holy crap!

I knew I wasn't flying airlift to Hong Kong any more. Never seen so much happening so quickly. Got it down now, thankfully, but it took me awhile.

BTW, welcome to LAX Ferd! Looking forward to swapping some lies with you in the lounge (that is if you can actually call it a "lounge").
