Nah, I think he's just saying... stuff. Tsquare's a little exciteable this morning, talking AAI furloughs etc., short sentences and all. I guess he's just a little surprised like everyone else.
True dat. I find it frustrating that SWA seems to outmaneuver everyone.. including the gubbamint.. I hope LaHood choked on his cornflakes this morning. |
Don't forget guys, we're not USAir or United and we haven't blinked when these guys have come to town. They have actually cut back in DTW over the years and they still haven't gotten much of a foot hold in MSP.
We will do fine with them in ATL. I forgot who said it, in which thread, but I agree it's time to "out nice" SWA. Old Delta was famous for southern charm, which made people in the southeast love us as much as Coke. Time for our management to REALLY get back there and not just pay lip service to it. Last two thoughts: LUV = international feed. ACL or someone smart should be able to find DTW stats on that somewhere. I really feel sorry for Sun Country. They are the guys getting killed in MSP and I'll bet they were hoping (an all 737 company) that they were on the target list. Ferd |

I don't know about you, but I want to compete. I want the cat-herders to want it also. It would make it a lot more pleasant to go to work. I also have flown on LUV, and have witnessed the hired help, and their funny antics. That is one maturing airline. The people are old, the jokes older. Still a great company, but one that is based on growth in an industry where growth doesn't make sense. So they are going to have to prevail, or die trying. At any rate, we shouldn't kid ourselves about their ambitions: it's not just ATL or the East. They are coming to the international space (look at today's press release). They are going after our food-bowl. We now have in our combined DNA people that will slash your throat for looking at them funny, and people that know how to sreve fake southern compliments in a way that will make you just gush with gratitude. You're coming to the ATL? How how naaaaice! Bleeeeess yor heart! |

Maybe now that this SWA merger has been announced, the FNWA pilots will stop being the perpetual complainers they have been up to this point (As if they really got shafted with this merger:rolleyes:) and step up and use that energy to make DELTA the airline it can be.
I know a lot of you are thinking this, I am just the one who said it:eek: |

I think Manager brings up a good point about the importance of large airplanes, from the standpoint of offering a better product, but I ahve a question... if we're fielding a RJ on a route, and LUV fields a 737... who loses the most money?
