If you have a marriage event you can add at any time. If you dropped one and are adding another you will need to wait until your pass allotment date. I would send the paperwork in, it just will not be effective until that date.

Same goes for Companion passes.

Hey Nu; Look like DAL got a 30 day DOT extension on HND. Bet they need jets to fly it :D

They will start on March 1 now. Gives us enough time to get some mod lines does and a few other things.

Darn dots :p

I just do not see that happening in ATL just like LGA.

Have you heard those controller school those LUV pilots up there. Quite funny.

This was copied from "Market Watch"

The pilots' union for Southwest Airlines said late Monday it hired unnamed investment banking and legal firms for counsel during bargaining related to the carrier's acquisition of AirTran Holdings. "We are cautiously optimistic of the potential fleet growth opportunity connected to this acquisition and its subsequent effect on our pilots' career progression," said Capt. Carl Kuwitzky, president of the Southwest Airlines Pilots' Association. The union's next step is to incorporate pilots from the AirTran seniority list onto the Southwest Airlines seniority list. "As we work on our portion of this acquisition, no stone will be left unturned to protect SWAPA pilots' interests."

Look out Airtran pilots........

All in all, I think it was a great move to pushback against the DOT and not agreeing to their terms with regard to our LGA slot swap.

Could you have imagined if we divested those slots to the DOT and they in turn transferred them to SWA?
That little maneuver would have given them a substantial presence in the EWR and LGA prior to their little merger announcement, and then compounded that position with an even stronger position in NYC.

I think this was SWA's plan all along.

Wondering how long it will take for DAL and LLC to reapply for original slot swap agreement with the conditions of dropping the lawsuit.
Eager to see what happens with this one.

Thanks

Did you add a new one while keeping the old one and do they know about each other?

With respect to the slot swap, heard an interesting rumor that I've never heard before while on a USAir (westies) jumpseat.

As usual, the merger came up (imagine that). I asked them if they thought that Dougie would ever split USAir back up. The Capt (ok, wishful thinking on his part maybe) had heard that there were discussions to give up some east planes and pilots to UAL in an effort to make the swap more attractive to the DOT.

I'm not sure how that makes the swap more attractive.............just tossing out the rumor. Talk among your selves:D

One would wonder how divesting EWR slots to SWA would help expedite the DOT approval process UAL and CAL.

Hard to tell what goes on in the DOT's thought process.

With LUV getting all of AAI's slots we should be able to do the original deal with no divestiture with expediency. There is no more room left between the DOT/DOJ and the wall. They have to give in. If they still try to fight this, it weakens their case.

I say it looks like Checkmate.
