I'd like to say, and trust me I've been guilty of saying things that I truely regret posting, that I'm a little disappointed and embarrassed with a lot of the comments regarding SWA's purchase of AirTran. The comments come across as very arrogant and from atop the high horse. Sadly, our reputation among other pilot groups is exactly that.
SWA has a lot of momentum going their direction. I hope our company can truly learn from the SWA model of employer-customer appreciation-service relationship. This is a wake up call to everyone that we must continue to be the best at what we do. And we need to get over this N vs. S crap -- something which we're all guilty of. |

With LUV getting all of AAI's slots we should be able to do the original deal with no divestiture with expediency. There is no more room left between the DOT/DOJ and the wall. They have to give in. If they still try to fight this, it weakens their case.
I say it looks like Checkmate. What is the endgame here with the respect to the lawsuit. Will the DOT be forced to merely approve the deal under court mandate, or will the DOT be obligated by some type of fiscal restitution to DAL and LLC. If the latter is the case, will that case have to be tried separately under a lawsuit? Maybe some of the legal buffs on here have a better take on this one. |
That depends on what LLC and DAL seek as penalties.

Delta is seeking a court ruling on who really "owns" those slots. Gov't. or airlines? Both sides are probably nervous about what the answer might be. |
