Thanks for the vacation re-bidding tip. This million-page thread has been a wealth of information!
ACL, I'll let you know how 320 training is. I'm going to it because I'm out of options. Was a 747-200 guy who was pushed from ANC & landed on the DC-9 for seniority purposes. Now the trips are soooo bad I just can't take it anymore. Used to hold a good line, now i'm struggling to get weekends off on Reserve. All my buddies on the 320 LOVE it, but i'm sorta partial to the Boeing fleets. I'm sure i'll change my tune once i'm out on the line. Thanks again for the info guys! Vol |
It's been said that there very well could be some new categories on the January AE. I'm thinking ATL 320 or NYC 320. Anybody else want to toss in their guesses?

Let me know how 320 training goes. I am thinking that may be my next stop if I get displaced in Jan. |

So... What do I tell them I want to fly when I call in to rejoin? I'm leaning towards 7ER out of LAX, 96% and sitting reserve, but I've heard it's doable from Phoenix? The drive is 6 hours and there are like 50 flights a day PHX-LAX. But then I read on here how much reserve commuting sux, and I think maybe holding a SLC37N at 63% and a line would be better?
Any advice you guys might offer would be great, this is the first real reading I've done since the old furlough lists and I don't really know/understand the reserve requirements vs. lineholder advantages. Thanks! Any hoo, here's my take. When I came back a little over two years ago, to the 73 in LA, I was a solid line holder with great QOL. Since then, I've lost a lot of seniority and am just trying to hold onto LA because I live here and my wife and kids are happy. Commuting to reserve in LA would be a beeyatch with the three airports thingy. In fact, if I have an early sign in in SNA, I go down the night before and get a hotel. The traffic's just too risky and I've cut it close too many times. I'd take the 320 in SLC in a heart beat if I lived in PHX. In fact, if I get pushed out of LA, that's where I'm going. I love flying the 73 but reserve sux and has been a huge pay cut from what I was getting with a line. PM me if you have any questions about LA or the 73. Happy to help. Buzz |

FTB is setting a record, barely 14 hours of flying in 30 days. I'm either a bum, a saint, an example to follow, an example of how to become broke. Disclaimer: This is not indicative as to life on the ATL MD88 B, it's really hell. First of all, its Atlanta, and we don't have seasons. We have Summer and February. Leaves don't change color they just fall off the tree. An 80 degree thanksgiving is not out of the question. I was at an Iron Bowl in nearby Alabama in 2001 in 85F weather. Not cool. Get it? Or like sitting on the patio of your favorite cafe in the middle of January while watching the seals surf to 63F weather and sun, wearing sandles and jeans of course. Now if the ocean would heat up beyond 60F... |
What is the date of hire for the most junior guy in LAX?

ATL 765 no more NYC 765, NYC 330.
I see the point in a NYC 320, but sometimes I wonder if the D95 would do better for the shuttle north and south from LGA? |
Ya know FtB; putting the entire 765 back in ATL makes a lot of sense. I have heard that a few places as well.
