DOH does not matter. The most junior LAX guy is a 11442 on the 7ER and 11510 on the 73N. We have about 12200 total.

Ya know FtB; putting the entire 765 back in ATL makes a lot of sense. I have heard that a few places as well.
A330 seems like a perfect NYC airplane. Just that shift alone would be a MOAB for ATL at least. |

Whoa,
Can you put that into layman's terms for us FNWA types. I was under the impression that they only had until DEC 1st to convert us from the May AE. I am going to the 320 with a Nov "Projected" training (not happening) and a Dec conversion. I have not seen anything on a projected Conversion anywhere (DBMS or otherwise). Everything I have been told is as of Dec 1st I am off until I go to training. Is this not the case? Thanks for any clarification for those 5000 of us that missed Indoc Vol |

That is a rumor I would really like since I would love to get to the aircraft in ATL. I don't think its going to happen because in the June base meeting they said that the 400 flying in NYC will all come back in the spring and should stick year round after that. Still I can cross my fingers and hope it comes to ATL.
I heard that too. I know there are only two cities they think have the ability to support the 744 year round out of NYC. I also know that they want a stronger commitment to the 330 time in ATL before the jump on basing it here. If marketing can give that, then I see a lot of the MSP 330 time coming this way, and being backfilled by more 7ER time. |

I don't think you will see the basing on the 9 change. In the flight attendant conference call Anderson stated he wants to accelerate the retirements of the 50's pending get replacement lift. I assume he meant more MD-90's. They are not going to rebase a category that might be gone in 36 months. The maintenance expenses are also running higher on the nine then they had hoped and fuel is on the way back up. He further stated that they have 19 MD90 flying the line today but we have 49 under contract so there are additional 30 MD90's that will be coming to the line in the next 12 to 18 months as they get through the mod lines. There is however a problem getting them ready and they are already well behind schedule on the mod line process. That is why some of the DC9-40's have had retirement delayed a few months.
Heard anything about a NYC 320 base? Seems like we do a lot of flying through NYC, but then we do the same through LAX, CVG, & ATL so who knows? |
Why are the MD90s delayed?
