I'm just trying to find that list of days that need CPO approval. I am going to be TDY the week before Labor Day but was wondering if I'd have to do all the forms since it was in the vicinity of a holiday. I know I saw a list of dates somewhere... but I can't find it now.
Go onto the DLNET (left side), Flight OPS Resources, Chief Pilot Support Center-CPSC. Now on left side under Pilot Resources is Military Leave Information Log. Once you open that up, there is a drop-down menu under Primary that list all the dates that require "special authorization". Remember, it's not on the list, but the computer will restrict one day prior and one day after the holiday as well. Hope that helps. |

Remember there is no approval required. Legally all you have to do is notify a representive of the company that you will be on Mil Leave. You don't have to talk to the CP. I would since its only a phone call but its not required. All you have to tell the CP is you will be on mil leave and the dates however the first call to scheduling is all that is legally required. If you don't talk to the CP however I would expect to be required to produce orders on return from the leave. If they request orders or other documentation you have to produce it but not until you return.
Basically I just had to call the CPO and then they entered the MIL LV days. It just another step to the process but it also allows the CPs to have greater visibility on who takes MIL LV which is probably a good thing. The APD list of days is a good start but it has some additional days thrown in - in my case it was Valentines Day. Scoop |
There it is... Thanks!

Hey I'm a BNA commuter, I'd like to meet some of the homies. Flew in from DTW today with a smooth DC-9 landing, I thought it was NewK, but the FO came out for the thankyougoodbyes. |
Has anyone had experience with the new company owned/operated transportation?
Rumor has it ALL transpo will be "in house", unless it is hotel provided service. How do you get rid of Golden Touch? Those guys will hunt us down and run us off the road! |
I know this has been answered before, but how many reserve X days do you get in a month with one week of vacation?

I highly doubt that DAL is going to "in house" transpo. The logistics involved with the world's largest airline doing their own shuttle service would probably outweigh the logistics involved with the hundreds of airplanes and tens of thousands of aircrew we have operating all around the globe. In fact, I know the owners of the service in MCO. They have a recently renewed contract with DAL.
I agree why would DAL move in house such a herculean task, especially when they outsource so much. |

Amend Section 23 Z. 4. a. and b. as follows: 3. When a reserve pilot is scheduled for a known period of absence in the upcoming bid period, his X-days will be pro-rated for the absence under the chart in Section 12 N. 7. His reserve guarantee will be reduced by 1/30th or 1/31st for each day of the absence, and he will be paid the value of the absence in addition to any other pay for the bid period. Exception: X-days will not be prorated for a period of absence due to CQ training. Assume a 30-day bid period, with ALV = 75:00 and a reserve guarantee of 70:00 hours in the examples below. a. Example 1 – Pilot has seven days of vacation in the bid period. Results: 1) Pilot receives nine X-days. 2) Pilot’s reserve guarantee is reduced by 1/30th for each day of his vacation (70:00 – [7 x 2:20]) = 53:40 adjusted reserve guarantee for the bid period. 3) Pilot is paid 7 x 3:00 = 21:00 for the vacation in addition to any other pay for the bid period. b. Example 2 – Pilot is scheduled for four days of CQ training. Results: 1) Pilot receives 12 X-days. 2) Pilot’s reserve guarantee is reduced by 1/30th for each day of his CQ training (70:00 – [4 x 2:20]) = 60:40 adjusted reserve guarantee for the bid period. 3) Pilot is paid 4 x 3:15 = 13:00 for the CQ training in addition to any other pay for the bid period. |
