That would be a nice trend.

It's only a matter of time before they learn the hard way. If they're focusing on on time they can NOT use contract MX.

Too many times I've had to wait 2+ hours just for the guy to show up because he's at home or working on a different airplane, & he's the lone mechanic.

Quick question for you guys/gals in the know:

I had a GS the other day that got canceled so we headed back home. They gave me 2 hr suit up pay (after I had to call about it) but said that it isn't GS. I'm a reservist that never gets close to breaking min guarantee so I just gave them about 5 hours of time for free. Since I went to the airport exclusively for this trip shouldn't this be GS and therefore on top of min guarantee? What say you?

Straight from the contract for a canceled GS.

Example 2.
Rotation #1 cancels; pilot reports but does not fly.

Results:
1) Regular pilot – single pay and credit for rotation #1.
2) Reserve pilot - suit up pay and credit, and additional time free of duty under
Section 23 S. 11.

So the credit your response references is like any trip they might give me on reserve and not on top of min guarantee? In other words it was done correctly?

Thanks

I mean this aint pre 9/11 and pre 2000, if you're a line mechanic and a plane needs afixin then that's job security. The more problems the better I'd think. But that's just me and I like paychecks even if it interferes with the Honorable Judge Judy.

But I'm assuming and don't mean to pick on one guy.

While you were using sarcasm, you'd be amazed what I've heard people say about the airbus (other pilots, mechanics, and flight attendants):

"I just don't want to fly an airplane where I'm not in control of it."

"Those are french made throw-away planes."

"we just need to park all of them...they break and are dangerous."

As I'm staring at them and about to ask them if they need a helmet to walk around safely...

As long as they are senior to me, I always agree with them, except for those that want to get rid of them. ;)

MEM had to cause the current system was a joke. 35 minute airplane swaps and it took 20 minutes just to get a hold of anyone for MX.
