So I want to swap with the pot for a trip in Aug - I've had the request in for a couple days now and been neither awarded nor denied - appears to not violate any rules, per the little "does it violate rules" option on icrew. How long in advance of the sign-in do trips in open time get swapped? I presume they're waiting to see if anyone senior to me (about everyone - but only for a couple more weeks!) wants this particular trip.
Thanks for the help

If there's no Denial code on the swap I would call them. This has happened to me twice since June. Both times I called them on it and it was approved on the very next PCS run. Not sure what's going on over in ATL but in my opinion this is crap!

When I asked them why my swaps were being skipped over I couldn't get a straight answer. 90% of the time it hasn't been an issue, but it has been happening to several people of late. Even if there is a conflict with reserve coverage they have to give a denial reason on the swap. Call them.

You gotta a purdy mouth... wait a minute. I know you. You're Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. You played basketball for the Los Angeles Lakers.

I think you're the greatest, but my dad says you don't work hard enough on defense. And he says that lots of times, you don't even run down court. And that you don't really try... except during the playoffs.

Sounds just like yellow slipping on reserve, my ys requests are most of the time flat out skipped despite being first up, lowest raw, most senior and no conflicts on mine or the other pilots schedule. I studied the ruo rules and as far as I'm concerned this stuff should be done on a computer, not by hand as it evidently is. I called a couple of months ago and was told once it's assigned it's done, I used to call before but that got me nowhere.

:-)

I'm at the point where I just say, "Sorry, I didn't understand you. Could you repeat that?"

Oh, it's a big pretty white plane with red stripes, curtains in the windows and wheels and it looks like a big Tylenol.

Great flick and so many quotes..I think this is the announcement made when the FA's know I am at the controls:

"There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?"

Funny thing about Airplane!. A lot of people think it was a rip on Airport, and similar disaster movies. This is kinda true, but only in concept.

The producers of Airplane actually BOUGHT the rights to a movie called Zero Hour!, and filmed it with the exact same script, except changing a few nuances and lines. To this day, they still own the rights.

Funny how inflection and a few lines makes a huge difference.

See for yourself:

YouTube - Airplane! vs. Zero Hour!

Nu

PS The airplane noise in "Airplane" is actually the engine noise from "Zero Hour!"...it was the longest running gag in the movie.
