Poorly. The wife said "study" was my mistress and I had to stop seeing her. :D

Rule #1: Never upset the wife.

I plan to do this one as practice now.

Did you make it home ok after our trip?

Man, what a buzz kill.

There was a rumor going around that with the new CQ the "oral" was now contained in the "Aircraft Systems" self study CD. Looked up the CQ discussion and that says a traditional Oral is given on the 64X day ... but that document does not look to be the most current.

Anyone done this under the new 9 month CQ?

Better to be prepared in any event.

So now look for something to pop onto your schedule prior to Aug 5th for the month of September. They do this so you will know about the CQ training prior to you bidding for the month.

You will get a pop-up on I-crew that you have to acknowledge with your password that says training has been posted on your schedule. When you ack that then go to training/vts info and you will see the dates they have scheduled you for training. It also shows up in the PBS calender like FTB said.

I had CQ in August last year. They missed posting the training by the deadline. They tried to post the training after the fact. I made them move it to days that were more convienent for me. They didn't like doing it, but the alternative was to slide it to the grace month.

As of right now, I haven't been scheduled for this year, either. I have to wonder if they haven't dropped the ball again. I do have an award for other equipment so that may have affected things a bit.

Just be aware that they have screwed this up in the past and hold their feet to the fire if you don' like the placement.

Scheduling question

Could someone help me with a few questions I have.

Is SDQ considered international or domestic. I was under the impression SDQ, GEO, BOG, were scheduled and paid like domestic.

Here is my situation, reserve pilot, I flew 18 hour BUD, and 10 hour SLC. 28 hours in five days. I get short call tomorrow with only 2 days of availibility. I know that they can take me into my X days but it would have to be an international trip to go beyond 30/7. Right?

Thanks for your help

Boy from South,

You are asking two different questions:

With regard to Whitlow and 30 in 7, that would hinge on whether the airports are dispatched as Domestic. Pay is per the definitions in our contract.

I think (as in not sure) that SDQ is dispatched as a flag operation, but falls into domestic for pay.

Do you know the deal with the training golden days? You can put in up to 5 days for each month you are eligible for training that they can't schedule you. I always put in the first 5 days of each month I'm on the hook because if I'm surprised with training, I want that time to study. I don't know what other guys do.

I knew about the 5 golden days but thought it was total, did not know it was 5 golden days for each of the 3 mos.. Thanks.

Ad Lib,

I guess I was trying to find out if they could only use me for international flying. If I was at 28/7 that would only leave 2 hours for domestic. I did not know if SDQ, GEO, BOG, etc were scheduled as domestic or international.

Thanks,
BFS
