Ops told us the DAL MX is not up & running yet. Still contract mx.

Well somethings up, I had a long conversation with the DAL mx guy three weeks ago when he met me on the ramp during my post flight. He was DAL, I was surprised and he told me it was a DAL mx crews now. Said they'd just started, so I know they're there on the overnight because we have so many RONs. So maybe that have some issue but phl ops is not telling the truth to tell you they're not up and running yet, but obviously they should be there. Maybe they're shift is done?

If they are really "furlough bypass" the bad news will be that their longevity stalled a few years ago.... for their sake I hope they are considered flow ups with requisite seniority.

They go back as 10 year FO's. Guys from their classes are on the 767. They will go from 3rd year Captain pay to 10 year FO pay. Compass can technically hold them for 90 more days but then they will have to pay them at the rate they would be getting at DAL and contribute to their 401K.

Question ...

How many pilot jumpseats on an A320? If I am reading the jumpseat availability correct it shows two. Is this correct?

Thanks.

As an add-on to this Q:
I know as a DAL (formerly north) guy, if available, I can move to a F/A jumpseat to free-up a ride for a CASS approved off-line pilot (UAL, A/A etc.) So on the A319/320, that may also help you out. This was allowed on our side as we receive door training at CQ each cycle. Is that the allowed for the (former) south guys? Anyway, that may help you out in a pickle sometime...And as someone already stated, there are two jumpseats in the cockpit.

Thanks Embraer,
Didn't realize that NWA furloughed back to 1/15/01 hires. Quite the spread on seniority list though.
Luv

The went back a lot further that that!

Yes we can take the F/A jump seats. They are usually full of F/As though.

Yeah, the furloughs went back a lot further than those dats. However, only 4 guys from NWA took the flow down. Three are still on the list at Compass

Apparently they are only on at night. During the day it's Swissport contract mx. I guess our guys are only on until 0530. IDK, but our flight cxd.

Another stupid question ...

I recently remember reading that the timeline to reserve the jumpseat were changed. I've looked on Deltanet and the PWA and can't find them.

Does anyone know the source or the lead time to reserve the jumpseat for going to work, going home, and for pesonal use?

Thanks..

5 1/2, 3 1/2, 1 1/2 was the last I heard. Did it change?
