I was riding the jumpseat once of a 88 Captain who was a non-member. I cannot quote exactly why he was, he just hadn't paid the dues back a while ago. When the union called they gave him the option to come back whole but it'd be $100,000+ or something along those lines. So it wasn't worth it, so he stayed non-member. Does that sound possible?
Give me a break, it was like 7am on an ATL-LGA commute back in my ER days. |

Nosmo, I agree. I do not think they will pull the SEA 330 flying down as much as ppl assume.

What sort of questions are they asking? I got a call from them yesterday but didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer. Now I"m curious about the poll & wish I'd picked up. Oh well, maybe they"ll call back.

Basically questions about how the mec and lec are doing. What do I wanna see the union focus on, what do I think about the union working with mgmt and outside sources on behalf of the pilot group, do I feel the represent all delta pilots the same since the merger, what do I think about alpa national, do you feel the mec communicates enough with the groups, how was your last recurrent training, etc

It is a Union poll. They pick a cross section. It is scientific in nature so not everyone will get a call.

DH Deviation via iCrew
OK, here's the short version on the beta test of the DH deviation via iCrew.
Sign in for your trip as normal. Log in to iCrew. Yes iCrew, not eCrew. From the NRSA Travel menu, select Jumpseat/Deadhead (This is currently visible just for the beta testers). Select "Positive Space deadhead for back-end deviations" Enter your rotation and requested DH flight. If your rotation has one leg, you can only book one leg of positive space. If it's a two leg DH, you can book two legs. Overall it was a positive experience and worked quicker than calling someone for booking a deviation. You still are supposed to call scheduling after your last "working" leg and let them know you deviated. It should be live next month. |

I just finished a trip that had a dead head from my home town back to base. I spent over 30 minutes on hold trying to inform them I was deviating before I gave up and just informed myself I deviated! |
