Budapest evidently. We can all do this and my argument is this for us, without regard to what happened here, no heads down during taxi.

And it's still a DC-9!!!!!!

You can't beat it! :D Old can be improved and while it'll never have the benefits of a clean sheet, it will have what clean sheets don't have, resources. Resources that come from history such as huge fleets, access to limited airports, credit histories and Carls. Sure there are some legacies that aren't so good but heck people will put more into lcc then virgin if lcc got new management or was split.

Also, if your flight is to leave at 9:52am, then D0 should be 5 minutes later, not 9:52. We should be taking care of our passengers right up to 9:52am not right up to 9:42am.

This is a real problem. Gate agent are now to have the numbers in the computer at D-7... So they get a delay if this is not done. I asked several ACS in ATL about this and they said yep they cannot reopen a flight after D-7 w/o getting a delay. So if they said they will not add people after have closed the flight. Even with 6mins left. Seems counterintuitive to me.

So what's the point of being able to block out 5mins early with people still at the gate?

This last trip I got most of WDRs 5-6min b4 sched dept. Who knows how many tight conx ( that could have used 5mins more) we left behind.

Attn New York based pilots... Council 66 elections are now open. You can vote for your reps online, it's easy and takes less than 3 minutes... just log into the alpa website (www.alpa.org) and click on the big vote button in the upper right hand side of the page. Election runs until 10am on Nov. 10

Just because some LCA says something, doesn't make it policy. They have to be able to back that up in writing. Does anyone know where it might be stated in writing?

Carl

Carl, I don't know about other fleets, but the WDR Bulliten for the 88 does say that the performance checklist can not be completed till after the completion of the afterstart checklist.

I don't have the bulliiten with me. Maybe someone does....

From the DC-9 FCB 10-03, page 6: "Performance data loading may be accomplished at the gate, if the WDR is available; however, the Performance Checklist may not be completed until after the PUSHBACK/START and AFTER START checklists are complete. At no time should performance data loading conflict with other critical duties such as pushback (two pilot crew) or taxi."

Wasn't this because of final flap check?

Sig, thanks for the heads up.

Do not forget to vote guys. This you can do from you home! Lets get a record turnout. Beat C44 level of 34% last year. Go for 95%.

IDK.... We check that flaps on the taxi, and before t/o checks. Idk why the preformance checks can't be done when u get the WDR. Long as the a/c isn't moving.

I'm glad they included this in the DC-9 FCB, my next question is what are we loading. Did somebody add a FMC to the DC-9 and not tell me? I guess the memo and video are coming next week....
