Denny We lost alot of our team last year and its going to take a year or 2 to get experience level back up. We've got talent but they're not clicking as a team yet. The Texas Tech game was ugly too but they managed to pull it out. |

Exactly, so what, but it does make interesting conversation expecially when the large migration to the super premimum one and only mecca southern base did not happen. Yes there have been a few trickle ins but no mass migration. Take this bid for example, 68% of DTW7ER Capt fDAL vs32% fNWA, 100% fDAL of ATL7ER Capt and 80%fDAL ATL767 capt vs 20% fNWA ATL767 capt. Just interesting facts not meant to be directed at one side or the other. Recall rights may have influenced these numbers but I am not smart enough to figure that one out.:D
What we haven't seen yet, is Atlanta shaking itself loose. Once big planes really start moving around, I'm not sure what will happen. A lot of the potential for disruption is still in front of us. One interesting point about the Southeast, which could be a mitigating factor. Atlanta isn't like LA, New York, or Seattle in terms of density, and driving distances. A lot of guys live in Florida, not GA. I suppose you could say that it's the same for guys living in New England commuting to New York: you still have to fly. But still, I think there may be more fNWA guys living close to a LA airport, or fDAL near SEA, to make those more attractive to cross-polination. Just speculation here, of course. I think the bottom line is that we will gradually look more and more like what Pineapple was talking about: a more "stovepipe"-like system. Again, it was all expected. Some aspects aren't great, but I didn't want to be "protected" with fences. This is a by-product of the SLI method I supported... so it is what it is. |

I think this has more to do with the realignment of flying and the reduction of flying at a lot of the former South bases.

Agreed, I think more realignment will be taking place, the O & D traffic is very telling. If you can slowly download some of the hubs and rebalance, you can make a huge difference in on time reliability, seasonal swings and profitability.

AE Results Analysis
The DAL forums File Library section contains an analysis of the AE results. The pilot who put this together did an outstanding job of listing how many pilots came in and departed at any given seniority level.
If you were on the AE results, you are listed in your new category and also where you would have been in your old category. If you aren't in the AE, but curious about a category, just find a pilot near your seniority level. Thanks to ..... for putting this together. |
Is scheduling getting worse or is it just my imagination? I did 5 short calls this month. I had vacation so I am maxed out. I was not used on any of the short calls. I was worked every other day that's not a short call. I've been deadheading to other bases to do other bases flying a lot which I hardly ever did before. I've also been sitting short call on my last day on which never seemed to happen. I'm hoping I just had a bad month, and this is not the norm. I'm still not going to break guarantee either.

Thread Creep Alert: (Subject) NFL Football-
Does anyone like Brett Favre anymore? I know we have a lot of Wisconsinites and Vikings fans on here, but geeze. This guy in response to an 0-2 start tells reporters that: 1.) The Vikings have to win with the players they have. (Like his interceptions didn't have much to do with them losing and he is not the player that is the problem.) 2.) He has to resist the urge to press too much. (Like he has to compensate for the lack of talent around him and it has nothing to do with the fact that he conveniently misses training camp every year.) 3.) A Secondhand source said Farve might not have come to play for the Vikings this year if he had known one of his main receivers was hurt. (Like he was so forthcoming and let the team know the status of his injury throughout the off season.) That guy has jumped to the top of my list as being the most unlikeable players of all time. Again. Sorry for the creep. I just had to share my angst with the APC family. NFL rant over. Go Bears! (Yes. I know their 2-0 start will turn into a 7-9 season Thanks.) :D |

Denny I did get to spend the warm up to the Auburn/South Carolina game in South Carolina and got to hear a lot of smack. But FTB is incognito. The only thing I bash is MD88 ATL B right around the time of an AE if I know your senior to me. Jr guys can pm me and I'll tell them the truth about the category. :D By the way, the funniest part of playing South Carolina is the Gamecocks butt shorts: http://media.peopleofwalmart.com/wp-...009/09/182.jpg Thats what that is for those who've never seen it. Its funny that made it to the peopleofwalmart.com because they're popular shorts. As to Boise, great team, lousy schedule. Notre Dame could go undefeated with that schedule. Years ago a certain undefeated SEC team was told they didn't deserve to be in the national championship because their out of conference games weren't hard enough... but yet someone whose entire in-conference games are a joke and the two teams they beat out of conference are anything but winners deserve to go? I think VaTech is 0-22 or something against top 5 teams or something, I've got to look that up... sorry Buzz. In a championship system, go Boise, in a non championship system, its a disincentive to those who play in big conferences to play big out of conference games. |
