Nope, the 71st (last of the Eagle Squadrons) is gone now. I tried to get back for the big shuttering party but I got tied up with family stuff. Too bad, one of my old squadron commanders (and exDelta pilot) wrote a check for $1000 (the 94th and 27th commanders from that era also chipped in $$) and slapped it on the bar. I'm sure a good time was had by all.

$1000 bar tab huh? I did a charter once for The Coral Reefers, Buffets band, I think $1000 was about right for them. But one of the bottles was $500 so that kind of skews things. They drank probably a bottle of wine each and left the beer in the plane. We had at least one cooler of beer. Nice folks. Buffet was in his own Falcon 900. The boss gave me his tickets, he had a box at the... whatever you call the place where you have bands in downtown Atlanta... anyways, watched the first half then left to prep the plane.
