I don't understand why a DC-9 pilot has "TOGA LK" as his screen name. Airbus poser.

It's called seniority... ;)

However time on the Mini-Dog is coming to an end.

In the last few weeks, I've noticed a trend of pre-canceling flights, even though weather is not an issue. On my current rotation, they canceled an ATL-ECW turn three days before the rotation began. As an RDU commuter, I've also noticed a couple of ATL-RDU turns that were canceled well in advanced. Same for ATL-CLT. I asked a gate agent in RDU about that and he said one of the turns was canceled due to lack of equipment. All the ones I've seen are MD88 cancellations, although I don't know if this goes on in other fleets.

I'm an 08 hire and this is only my second summer on the Mad Dog. Is this normal practice during summer season?

They took three 88's out of rotation for operational spares.

I always figured the guy who wrote the "Rubber dog **** out of Hong Kong line never spent much time in Hong Kong. Or on the boat, for that matter.
