Fleet Captains from the November seniority list.
Aircraft, initials, pre-merger mistress 330 JD NWA 737 SW DAL 744 MD DAL 765 TC NWA 320 LM NWA 88/90/9 BT DAL 777 MD DAL Score - NWA = 3 DAL = 4* * One DAL guy covers two fleets according to the current flight ops charted dated 05AU G2010 Revised score - NWA = 3 DAL = 3ish future score.....I don't know if I really need to worry about this. Just put the right person in the position. I don't care where they are from. 747/777/330 - MD DAL 757/767 - TC NWA 320/737 - SW DAL MD88/90/DC9 - BT DAL I agree that what really matters is that the right person be put in the position for the right reason. I don't personally know most of these people and will give them a chance. I think that most of the fNWA people are concerned with a potential attitude of "quit your complaining and just do as your are told and the only way to do this is the way we have been doing it for years here at Delta". It is still just part of the change that we are all going through. I hope that this does provide a greater insight and cross manufacturer standardization. I also think that everyone here is not giving near the credit that the fleet captain position deserves. They work hard so that life on the line is as standard and threat free as possible. Just my opinion and yes, it may stink! |

That was the beautiful thing in that you just went in and flew the sim for your check ride just like you flew the line. SOPA (standard operating procedures amplified). Not, well that is what the book says but this is what we do or that is in the oe guide etc. Trying to keep an open mind.:)
It still works like that, "fly your checkride just like you fly the airplane". We don't have sopa, but we still have a VOL 1 and FCTM. Do you have any specifics as to what you are told to do differently in the sim vs on the line? I don't know of anyone that endorses that idea or teaches it like that, at least in the 320 fleet. If it happens it is out of line and everything taught is exactly how you should do it on the line. |
