Not trying to stir the pot here (well, maybe) but can anyone tell me the rational behind replacing the 319/320 and 330 Fleet Captain positions with fdal guys who have never flown the aircraft. Looks like more "operation visine"
Maybe your "visine" is your finger in your own eye. |

Yes Ken was effectively chased out earlier and I don't know who is doing contract admin and or grievance . But yes they tell us that we are all delta now.
Man I think it might be time for a hiatus from this forum if all this whiny little girl stuff is gonna start again. Good grief guys.. give it a rest will ya? |

I figure with the fleet Captains not being tied to a specific fleet, the next step will be to have LCA's doing some sim work so that our training mirrors the line. I have heard a few errant comments about this over the past six months, and it seemed that they were leaning in that direction.

The uniform may be one thing but the ever shrinking paycheck is not making a particularly impressive statement, and plainly put a lot of us "just aren't feeling the love yet" so included as delta seems to have a ways to go.

Why does anyone care who the fleet captain is?
Even if you don't care who is in these management positions, if the roles were reversed, you would notice. The fact that all of these guys were just really first class dudes makes it really sad. The Delta way is to now have one guy in charge of the 744, 777 and A330. This same guy has never flown the 744 or the A330. This part of being at Delta is quite distasteful to me. Carl |

“Once again our people have decided that Delta’s direct relationship between employees and leaders works. This is the eighth workgroup in which representation was resolved since Delta’s merger, resulting in no union for the more than 41,000 employees in these groups. We urge the IAM and AFA to respect our people’s choice and the will of the majority. Delta people have patiently waited two years to have their pay, benefits, work rules, and seniority aligned. It’s time to move forward.” Carl |

Your company email is where they send the monthly notice of account information for our huge bonuses. I think the notices expire after a month..... :D |

I respectfully have to disagree. The Fleet Captains are suppose to be the experts on their aircraft. That is tough to do if you've never flown the aircraft. It is true the LCP's receive their direction from the Chief LCP but it is the fleet captain that recommends any procedure changes to Flight Standards.

It doesn't change Molon Labe's point about all the former NWA guys being ousted from their positions...with only 2 left to go.

Have faith. I am hopeful that as all the FOQA data is beginning to get analyzed there will be those in very high places that realize this information is more than just catching flap overspeeds and we will begin the process of melding somewhere between the fdal and fnwa organizations.
You cannot imagine the frustration of trying to do things the Delta way, even though you can see what a failure the latest procedures are. This is evidenced by the constant changes to procedures that just the other day, were touted as "the way we want things done."...only to see it changed to something even more incomprehensible. I take heart though, because I hear some fDAL guys stating the same thing. Carl |
