I know Auburn is number one and the Iron Bowl is huge but what about other big match-ups this weekend. OU/OSU, TX/TX A&M, UGA(sux)/Ga Tech. I'm even rooting for TX this weekend (not so subtle hint for Super to post TX lovelies).

They come true about the time pilots forget about them! :D

Our attention span is not long enough. Heck most ppl still think the MD-90 thingy is just a rumor!!! :p

USC vs Clemson is a biggie as well, then SC takes on Auburn for the SEC title.

I predict that JD and CS will leave the A330 program and return to line flying. This will be a very bad thing for the 330 fleet and its pilots.

I further predict that they will be replaced by DAL-S guys that are not qualified on the aircraft.

Okay I really only expect the first one to happen. The second one is just stirring the pot for the holiday weekend.

They are leaving, but both will be sim instructors. GH is taking CS place and MD is taking JD place. Should be a non-event, and I'm sure their wives will enjoy having them around, vs being tied to a blackberry.
Or did I miss the subtle sarcasm?

I truly can't understand this obsession with the management pilots.

Do you guys really have that much interaction with those people?
I don't think I've ever met one higher up than a LCA. (I take that back. The Chief Line Check Airman gave me my IOE on the 737. Nice guy. Excellent pilot. Likes German beer. Bought the German beer. We got along great.)

Things must have been VERY different at Northwest.
Somehow I've managed to fly the Widget for 20 years and can't remember a single thing that was particularly remarkable or controversial about any fleet captain we've ever had. They do their job and I do mine.

Maybe its just me. I must be missing something.

I've flown with a number of our fleet captains over the years, one of them wasn't an alpa member for whatever reason, but he WAS a gem of a person. CF could absolutely grease the 737 on, but back in the transition days from 737-200 to 73Gs and -800s, I took care of the FMS stuff. The old 767 guy ES was a great guy to fly with too. JG is a super good guy to fly with too. Beyond flying with them, I just look for the newsletters to keep abreast of fleet specific changes.

Hey Check, BS IS a great guy. I gave him his initial checkride in the C-141 back in the day. Drank A LOT of German beer on that trip.

PS I'm thinking the fnwa environment must have been very different in terms of the fleet captains. This will all die down when they understand and become comfortable with the fact that there's absolutely zero interaction with those guys unless, as I stated a few pages back, somebody has a training problem. Then, and only then, they "might" get to meet them.
