I realize saying good stuff here is frowned upon, but I just finished CQ this morning, and it was flat-out the best training I've ever done at Delta. Great tips from our instructor, real-world oral evaluation, LOE was an actual possible event, and the best thing, almost everything can be signed off on day one. My maneuvers validation today consisted of an instrument takeoff. Done. :)
Overall, about as painless as it could have been. |
Yep - maddog. I hope this philosophy in training has crossed into all fleets -
I came away from this CQ feeling good about the stuff that was emphasized - a different mentality from "box checking" of years past, regardless of its relavance. Enjoy your weekend/T'giving week! |
Looks like my chances of a Swap with the Pot for December are nil....
Reserve Coverage chart doesn't have a speck of blue on it. |

It has already happened. At least twice.
A Pinnacle RJ with no pax over Missouri and a Colgan Q-400 with 50 people in Buffalo. Two "professional airline crews" who basically didn't understand the fundamentals of aerodynamics or the machinery they were operating. It will eventually work its way to the majors. We are "coasting" on 50 years of safety momentum right now. |
