That is correct.
One caveat - if its your trip over New Years it might not get approved. Month to month transition pairings are a special case. I don't think they allow those to be swapped until the january schedules are done because legally they can modify that trip. Not sure though. They approved the swap on the first PCS run for my trip over New Years Eve. |
okay pg, i'd quote but its hard on iphone, but you had me scratching my head as you can google all the ins and outs of cashing out a 401K. But as far as cashing out a current employer one I've never thought of but I'll take your word for it that you cannot... or can you if you claim a hardship?

Retirement accounts
Now this is nothing new, but I am new so I just looked at it for the first time yesterday, and am wondering if I am interpreting this correctly. We can take a loan out from our retirement savings with a standard amoritization and pay interest, but we are paying the interest back to ourselves so we aren't really being charged anything? And it also said no tax penalties. If that is right, that's awesome. Could you then use that for part of a downpayment for a home and essentially not pay interest on that portion? Maybe I am completely misinterpreting this.
