Absolutely not! I wanted HNL B744 A.

Don't know if this has been posted, but I wish DAL ALPA talked to mgt this way, instead of bending over and giving managment what ever they want/ask for.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrD5pjDMl38

BTW... SWA Pilots make approx. $206/hr as a 12yr CA and approx $144/hr as a 12yr FO and that is on the smaller 737-300,500,700 (no 800's... yet).

Oh...and feel free to come to MSP. a fDAL 2001 hire should be able to hold CA on the DC-9.

I agree Dog. But, again, you're missing my point. Go back, oh I don't know, 15 pages, and read the post in context. I was simply responding to another poster asking for "facts" about the relative aftermath of the merger. So, I weighed in with my experience, since I was asked for "facts." The water had sought its own level and I was a line holder getting pretty much what I wanted. Now, obviously, the water level has risen. Not complaining, just trying to answer a question from Carl.

Sheesh guys. Damned if you do, and damned if you don't with some of you. From now on, I'll just start making sh1t up like some of the rest of you. Besides, LAX in the 73 B slot ain't "so cherry." If I didn't already live here and have a California girl for a wife, I wouldn't choose to move here. Prior to the AS code share it was pretty sweet. If you like covering three airports on short call and doing all nighters to Raleigh Durham, it rocks. It ain't a "super premium widebody" position so why are fNWA guys so drawn. ;)

As interesting as holding CA on the 9 in MSP sounds, I was in the left seat for 20 years in the USAF flying internationally. Going back a few decades doesn't really do it for me. I'm a lot like Ferd, I'm happy right where I'm at.

Very funny video. Especially love that line that says: "That attitude is going to make it very difficult to get you that office job Joe."

I am honored Carl. :D

Those flights to NRT would be fun, I'll bring my kid's finger paints and we can finger paint the release for an hour or so. Then, we can discuss stuff and you find out that without images.google.com I have nothing constructive to add and I am at an extreme disadvantage without the ability to EDIT my last comments. Thats why I am known as a good listener.

Then, since its a Boeing, I'll put the forehead holder to use as I stare at the map display wondering where we are.

And just imagine if we can get 80 on DTW 744 B? You could leave that cockpit and let us navigate the north poll. We can put the pressurization in manual and see if you notice while you're sleeping. And fart in your seat and Lord help you if you leave your cellphone in the cockpit.

Don't worry, 3 months on the line as a new hire on the ER my new hire classmate and I were picking through TRSAs in the ITCZ on the way from JFK to GRU in the wee hours of the morning while the Captain slept. I thought it was kind of like picking through storms in Texas on the RJ, its just funny when you think about it.

LOL. We were on the NATS in the Star Lizard at like 0300 and our check airman was sleeping in the bunk. We put on our O2 masks, dropped the super large international pubs kit to the deck and hit the bailout horn all at the same time (simulating a rapid d). We have pictures. He went vertical out of the bunk and was in the jump seat in about .5 seconds. It was frikkin hysterical. Of course, we didn't get an A+ in our eval but it was funny over beers for years. And, yes, he's a senior DAL CA these days. I love running into him.:D

Now BG, I'm not picking on your post, but I'm going to pick on the notion often thrown around is that their pay set the bar higher than it had ever been set. It was well below the "bar" but thankfully for them the likes of DAL and NWA went into Chapter 11 bringing them #1 737 status. We need to look back to 2000, not SWA 2006.

Amen brother.Amen. SWA should not be our gold standard. They fly one jet....albeit my jet. And, I'll take their rates in a heart beat. But DAL is international and, to this point, the largest globally. Let's take a look at Air France, Singapore, American, et al. As much as I'd love to have the SWA rates on my equipment, I would be thrilled to see DAL approach a long-term global approach. We certainly use that catch phrase in our marketing.
