Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

The question for people like me who are getting displaced by a slim margin, should we reinstate to the 767 (or 737) and risk getting immediately displaced again, or hang out and wait for something like the DC9 / A320 to come to Atlanta, or run off and join an aid group to some equatorial island paradise? (best way to get your cash out of the US tax free, BTW)

Maybe you and whoever else makes up "we" can get our scope changed on your own with your "contacts". Of course, those guys you left behind at ASA may call you a ladder puller Or maybe "we" will realize that there is a contract that spells all this out, and that contract is amendable in 2012.
What I am getting at is, we cannot effect change in how Scope is done. That is something that is negotiated between Executive management and the union. We has pilots though our union will be the ones that make the changes necessary, not the VP of Ops telling RA that he needs to do something.

IMHO there have been controlled leaks and there will be more and the will be more definite as the time approaches. It was done this way to see where the winds were blowing with the ER base in CVG. I would venture to bet that you will be able to modify your preference qualifiers a few weeks before the real bid comes out.
There are solid plans for SOC, but with everything they are only plans. If they choose to they can shelve them for a later date. The thinking is to get the pain out of the way quickly so that we can move on, but as with a few other things they can have a change of heart.

First, I for one want to say I too appreciate ACL, he's a great American . But second and speaking of plans for pre and post SOC, the news headlines on Deltanet are grim. Its enough to look on Drudge and see grim news, now Deltanet? I was just passing through to get to ecrew.
AP report: Airlines worldwide grounding more planes as they cut capacity
Teams continue string of above-plan ops performance
Turkish Airlines flight goes down on approach to Amsterdam
Delta seeks to increase destinations to Brazil... per Delta pilots union request
Industry outlook is grim for some carriers
Despite wind gusts in Northeast, ops manage another day of solid performance... for record reporting reasons we never include JFK as a Northeast airport.
TSA to test full-body scanning in SLC... just wait till they scan me, this program will come to an abrupt end.
...
I added some commentary here, but the two headlines in bold are what I noticed. I know Deltanet news has grown in its scope recently but to me Delta picks these headlines and you just hope its not preemptive preparation for the workforce.

Slowplay, that's a pretty low blow. This is a marketplace of ideas and ACL65 contributes more good information than most of us (certainly more than I do). We should try to avoid turning this into a Flight Info type board where pilots debate individual pilots, instead of ideas. Usually it is the side that is losing the debate on logical grounds that starts throwing poo around the monkey cages. (I'm not saying you did throw poo, just encouraging everyone to not crap in their hand).
It was such a travesty that he chose DAL as his airline while it was still in bankruptcy. He came after the approval of LOA 51 as the pilot contract with the scope provisions he now rails against. As a reminder, he came from ASA and now complains about RJ scope.
Give me a break!
Again, I don't want this to be FlightInfo. But this type of posting can't stand unchallenged.

ACL65 is a Delta fan, as am I. It was, and is, a number one choice airline. Much of the credit for that belongs to ALPA and the Delta MEC. But as with any debrief, there are things that can be improved on. Scope is sure one of them. We should agree to meet on another thread for a decades running scope debate and try to keep the "latest and greatest" true to its' name.
Everyone should maintain a good dialogue with their Reps during times like these. It is the nature of web boards to overshoot and undershoot in the absence of better information that helps refine our course.

First and foremost the word "WE" is used to term us the pilot group. Managers get their orders from above, we get them from our managers. I hate to break it to you but I am not a management spy.
Second, I did come from ASA, where I was just as upset about the relaxation of scope as I am today. C2K made my stay there quite longer than I planned. Six years longer. Why? Because of Scope, or lack there of.
Third, I blame no one for my lot. I on a daily basis get off my arse and make sure that I control where I do to the best of my abilities. If that means pointing a finger at the union, I will. If that means calling the company out on something, I will. I have done both and very recently.
As for controlled leaks, it is the MO. It is an opinion. What I find funny is that you put me in one category, and are repulsed when I do not stay in it.
I am glad my info is useful to you, if I am no longer of service to you, put me on your ignore list. It will save you time and energy.

BTW, I am quite happy with DAL. DAL is no different than any other carrier. I just do not want to see the airlines to be operated this way. We can do better. If I can help, I will.
I know that for far too long people have sat back and pointed fingers at people and things that are wrong, but never did anything. I can assure you and I am a dooer. I volunteer my time, do you?
