I'm not normally in the crowd that cheers for ALPA, but I do feel it necessary to give credit where it's due.

The new LOA/MOU regarding ISW and Roth conversions is an achievement that's worthy of a sincere Thank You!

I'm a big fan of Roth accounts and any opportunity to get money into a Roth (and out of the IRS's hands) is a good deal, (at least to me).

So, Thank You ALPA!

Now, back to Carl's New Years party... BTW where's my invitation?

The LOA regarding ISW is a small step in the right direction, but does not go anywhere near where it should go. It's my money. If I choose to withdraw it.....all of it, it should be my right. The time may come that I think it's worth paying all applicable penalties and still see value in withdrawing my money. There is no legal reason I cannot do this, only a negotiated reason.

You might check with the IRS before making such silly statements. You are wrong.

Geez, PG, it's a forum. You can't expect these discussions/rants to be based on facts, can you?:D

It's my money, and I want it now! (voiceover...if you have a structured settlement...) What was the definition of an IRS qualified retirement plan again?

As long as you pay the penalties, the IRS doesn't care if you withdraw the money from a 401k or an IRA.

You're right... that's disgusting. I sincerely apologize for that right there.
I shall now make amends. :)
