That was the beautiful thing in that you just went in and flew the sim for your check ride just like you flew the line. SOPA (standard operating procedures amplified). Not, well that is what the book says but this is what we do or that is in the oe guide etc. Trying to keep an open mind.
It still works like that, "fly your checkride just like you fly the airplane". We don't have sopa, but we still have a VOL 1 and FCTM.
Do you have any specifics as to what you are told to do differently in the sim vs on the line? I don't know of anyone that endorses that idea or teaches it like that, at least in the 320 fleet. If it happens it is out of line and everything taught is exactly how you should do it on the line.

I think we lost our Panasonic discount and the monthly discount on ADT. Either that or I just couldn't find the links.
Check, can't figure which is worse about that picture of Buzz. That you found it or that you posted it
Earlier today a China Airlines 747 cargo aircraft slid off the runway in SEA due to..........wait for it.............snow!! Shut the airport down for a while.

well, I've got to admit, we may be a little hickish down here but we're a very loving and open bunch. We even accepted 80 despite his flaws and inflamatory talk because he could get us into the crewroom for free pizza day:

Just to update for you, starting January 1, 2011:
747/777/330 - MD DAL
757/767 - TC NWA
320/737 - SW DAL
MD88/90/DC9 - BT DAL
I agree that what really matters is that the right person be put in the position for the right reason. I don't personally know most of these people and will give them a chance. I think that most of the fNWA people are concerned with a potential attitude of "quit your complaining and just do as your are told and the only way to do this is the way we have been doing it for years here at Delta". It is still just part of the change that we are all going through. I hope that this does provide a greater insight and cross manufacturer standardization.
I also think that everyone here is not giving near the credit that the fleet captain position deserves. They work hard so that life on the line is as standard and threat free as possible.
Just my opinion and yes, it may stink!

Thanks for the added info. Kinda looks like were shrinking the number of management positions. Thats smart business. Less Chiefs and hire more indians!!!!!!!! Let the hiring begin!!!
