Not trying to stir the pot here (well, maybe) but can anyone tell me the rational behind replacing the 319/320 and 330 Fleet Captain positions with fdal guys who have never flown the aircraft. Looks like more "operation visine"

Yep, AJC ran the story this AM about them.

Let's see: Brett Favre, rated number 31 out of 34 quarterbacks and leads the league in interceptions, but it's never really his fault because he's hurt, or doesn't have the talent around him, but never hurt enough to let the other guy start, or to jump up and down with arms, shoulders and elbows extended when he throws a touchdown pass, but grabs at the same arms, shoulders, and elbows when he throws a pick, gets my vote for the year.

Well, at least he now has a clean slate for excuses.

I'll add to buzz's slogan....

"Pr1cks throwing picks and texting D1cks!"

Sounds like the JFK-SVO incident might have been a bird strike.
The other two were completely different engine models. No patterns or trends. Just nasty coincidence.

The worst part may be that the flight returning to ATL had a tail strike on landing.
Look for some additional single engine landing practice in next year's recurrent.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck chances are it is a ,,,,,,oh the fleet capt on the 330 wasn't a duck but he has been part of operation visine....Now there are only 1 or 2 left to be done away with.Seems to be the delta way.

Why does anyone care who the fleet captain is?

On reserve, can they reroute you into a non-golden x day on a whim, or can they only do that when no other reserves are available to cover? I know its in Sec. 23 somewhere, but that's why I have you guys!!

I don't think the north types realize the limited roll that fleet captains play.

The airline is line oriented and much of the standards stuff comes from the LCP side of things. Of course the way this push without numbers stuff was designed and implemented I've got to wonder....
