It has been a while since I flew the 767, but it seems there was very little margin at max landing weight, set up for a single engine approach... 9 inches comes to mind ... and that was a Boeing uber test pilot on his fourth cup of coffee, knowing it was coming.

If, say, a domestic jet was involved with no way to dump fuel and there was reason to believe the other engine had damage (ie reason to land sooner rather than later) ... .

If you read my post, they do not auto deploy when the automatic function is deferred.

Insert black helicopter here.......

Have faith. I am hopeful that as all the FOQA data is beginning to get analyzed there will be those in very high places that realize this information is more than just catching flap overspeeds and we will begin the process of melding somewhere between the fdal and fnwa organizations.

I did, it struck me as strange that if the speedbrakes are deferred your clearence becomes critical...you would think the design would be auto deployment and manual at the pilots request.

Well, the CEO is a fnw guy...does that count?

Move on, we're all Delta now.

Right on Buzz. Look outside of Flying Operations lots of SVP's and EVP's are fNWA. Things ebb and flow. I would venture to guess that it will swing the other way over time as well.

Alright guys, we all know the only thing that matters is when we will hire next. Somebody spill it.

Things could get interesting quick then!

Can you deploy them manually? Used to do it on the Diesel 9.
