The 765 line is still there pending a decision on the tanker program but the 757 line is toast. They would redesign the wing and systems if they were to use that platform anyway. |
Is it Fox's cameras that make the GA Dome look so dingy or is it dark in there? It seems to me like college games in the dome are brighter, way brighter, whether its CBS or ESPN covering it.

The 767 is actually still in production and has a significant backlog. UPS has deliveries that extend to the end of 2012. ANA ordered 9 aircraft that are in production now. The total backlog is 50 airframes and with or without the tanker order the line will remain open for 2 more years.

Correct, and with the tanker order it will stay open. After this backlog is done, and no order it will be shuddered.
I believe the word is "shuttered", as-in closing the shutters. (Shameless effort to get my 200th post.) |

ACL,
I believe the word is "shuttered", as-in closing the shutters. (Shameless effort to get my 200th post.) It is and I apologize. Darn I-phone is smarter than the average bear. |
“In February there should be an announcement that has taken four years to pull off,” [AL Gov Riley] said. “There are two places in the United States that build live body aircrafts ... and in mid-February I believe Airbus is going to announce a third and it will be in Mobile, Alabama.”
---- As to the 767, it's too bad they didn't decide to revamp it with all of the cool stuff of the 787 first. GTF's, no bleed systems, avionics, composites, and so on. Then have a 762, 763 and 764. I mean they do all of this rinky dink stuff on the 737, why not revamp a beloved and known quantity? --- I'm not thinking ATL is going to win. Surprised it's not at least closer. |
Game's over. Turning to ABC- Miss Oklahoma now on stage.... :) Have fun talking about avionics, composites, etc.
