So if in your view ALPA hadn't "caved" and kept the pay far higher and there had been no profit sharing...how would the dues have worked out on the higher pay? Let's call it 6.52% higher so the math is easy for you, groundskeeper.

Seriously folks.

Simply put, ALPA dues are 1.95% of your pay..... The profit sharing is part of your pay.

Its like saying "ALPA should take dues from my pay, but only 93.5% of my pay".

As I recall, max augmented crew day on the Lizard was 24 hrs. I left MAC in '85, so that may have changed.

Contrast that with my longest Atlas day: 35 hrs Sao Paulo - Lima - Mexico City - LAX with extended sits at each stop, making it all perfectly legal. I was an FO at the time and the Capt fended off our mutinous desires.

We have a moving map?!? Is that what that thing behind the yoke stands in front of?

Never really looked at a 9 bid packet but to be honest we better hope that once the 9s are gone that the 88 is doing those trips.

Just pray they're better constructed but that they are ours and not theirs...

or theirs...

^^ damn good looking jet. So glad we have so many pilots who don't want to fly them STILL. insert rolleyes here. ^^

and for now whose responsibility is that? DALPA. Then in 2012, ours.

I don't want ALPA taking dues out of profit sharing. Is that clear enough? Stay on topic. I know they can, but I don't like it.

No, I'm just wondering why Inhofe is to blame because he can't fly his Cessna? Seems a bit of a stretch to me.

He's to blame because he's the one pushing for an exclusion to the new rules for supplemental ops.

The fact that he himself is an inept pilot doesn't help his case but it's just superfluous information in this instance.

You're the one who brought up the subject of who "negotiated" the non-contract employees profit sharing. Now you are avoiding a topic you brought up. I don't know how long you have been around Delta but it doesn't sound like its been that long if you don't know about the unwritten "me too" clause that has existed at Delta for decades.

I can agree with you on your first and last sentences.

Bickering over ALPA dues on the profit sharing check seems petty to me.
I'm happy to get the extra money even if its a bit less after all deductions.

What really matters is what the dues money delivers in terms of

earnings
career progression
quality of life

Cheers
