Simply increasing the credit hours per day would provide a significantly improved vacation experience for all pilots, regardless of relative seniority in category, and it would also do it with zero need for Good Will Bidding techniques as well.

Vacation should be 5-6 hours per day under the existing system of weeks per YOS. That would turn sucky vacation blocks into awesome vacation blocks for 100% of the pilot group in every category, line holders and reserves, without having to file a PBS appellate brief dissertation as well.

Touch drop helps some more than others, and helps the senior in category (who already get more vacation in the first place) far more than the junior in category. Increasing credit hours per day helps everyone and would be dramatically superior to our current ultra low credit noncation.
Not only that, but the ability to actually take vacation whenever you want like the rest of humanity, i.e. during xmas, spring break, summer, tgiving, etc.

Its pathetic that Delta pilots do not get paid until the damn Beacon is flashing. I've been at the gate with the door closed, full of pax, ticket on the line if S$#@ hits the fan with NO PAY because the beacon is not flashing. Who in DALPA ever accepted this deal?

At least :45 min pre & :30 min post pay each flight. Clock starts with main door closed... think most of the old North fleet is still brakes released / door closed = $$$.

This could be something we push for on the "work rules" side as well as a $ increase per hour. You might see some folks jumping ship to domestic if it happens. The shuttle guys would really increase their net pay.

Keep in mind the policy has always been that the brakes are not released until cleared to push. I know that is not always what happens, but that is and always has been the policy thus I am not sure why you are complaining about the Delta South procedure.

I think he's implying that it's a stupid policy.

If scheduling puts a short call on my schedule, I acknowledge it, then they realise that it conflicts with the trip I am actually on, and remove it, shouldn't I still get credit for it?

The problem with that is it still allows them to build trips with long periods of inactivity because you aren't on the clock. Pay at sign in (and I don't mean 3.5 hours early because you commuted on the first flight) and a min 6ish hour day would force highly productive trips.

IIRC, the new rest duty rules are based on duty time not just flight time. It's a good time to change the paradigm. Go back and look at your rotations, calculate how much it would be if you were paid this way vs the current way, and factor that into rates. We could sell a smaller rate increase but actually get more money, I think.
