Because Android users are already used to having a phone that can do Hotspot and Flash. It's hard to give up nice things that you already had on a previous phone.

ATT is giving some of their iPhone users more grief:

From a source in Japan:

It is looking very likely that the U.S. Navy will send over a 450-man radiation team to help (read ''solve'') the crisis for the Japanese, with big political dividends for both sides.

Of course its a better product. They can rage with impunity on all kinds of demographic discriminations and as an added bonus they are subsidized on their end with flush oil money and on our end with predatory financing terms that favor them over us. They can then "invest" some of that slush into their prescious product and "win" like Sheen.

And no one will dare challenge them because they might get together with their neighbors and take our prescious nation building bases away even as we borrow from them to finance their so called defense. Its almost funny, almost.

I don't think people on the east coast were much affected by radiation.

Did we not blow up Hydrogen Bombs in the pacific in the 1950's?

I don't think people on the California coast were much affected by radiation.

And I am talking about surface testing on the ground and in lagoons.

There is definitely a very real threat, but exaggerating it and causing people thousands on miles away to worry uneccesarily does not do anyone any good. For example, my mother called and said she saw on the news that the radiation will reach California today and that I should stay indoors. Really? Thank you 24 hour news cycle!

Scoop - Throwing caution to the wind and going on a bike ride along the California coast!
My understanding is, distance helps a lot when figuring the risks of contamination. The problem with the reactors/spent fuel rods is if they start throwing Iodine and Cesium particulates into the air. That is why the authorities want to know if the rods have melted/are melting in the spent fuel ponds and if the containment vessels have been ruptured in the active reactors.

I'm not saying people in California should be worried, but comparing it to nuke tests is not appropriate either, especially since Cali was probably upwind while the people in St. George, Utah were not.

Iodine-131 half life - 8 days
Cesium-137 half life - 30 years

That very same law of unintended consequences also still has ALPA's EF'nA and the ivy league geniuses of Wall St and airline board rooms completely baffled. They will come up with a meaningless "bargaining credit" or quarterly bonus number of a transient short term paper gain, while not even being mentally capabile of addressing the repercussions that financially harm the pilot group and the company.

Ditto. I had an original droid phone that broke two days ago. I thought I would buy the new VZW iPhone. The clerk said to me, "Can you wait until tomorrow?" "Why do you ask," I said. He said, "The new VZW 4G Thunderbolt goes on sale. Trust me, you don't want to buy anything else."

The next day, as I waited in line, there were several folks trading iPhones for the HTC phone. However, a majority of the people were upgrading from an existing Android phone. A small discussion between folks waiting in line sprung up. The iPhone people were annoyed that most of the apps for the iPhone cost money, whereas, most of the apps in the Android market are free. Toss in the tethering and wifi hotspot capability with 4G, makes the decision practically a no brainer. The only reason why I could foresee someone sticking with the iPhone is that syncing to iTunes is very simple.

This HTC 4G phone loads webpages faster than my Dell and the Apple computers that I have recently used. My original Droid phone would lag, pause, and slowly load a page. Not this phone. You click a link and BOOM, it's loaded.

If you ask me this is bullcrap on ATT's behalf.
Every other carrier allows this feature/ability for free.

I think ATT is getting a little greedy with this whole tethering feature fee.
Maybe they should concentrate more on improving there call-dropping network because it has really started to go down hill over the last year.
