For the record I'm not anti-Boeing... and I'm not really anti/pro Airbus or even MD. I like to be over the top with the MD stuff but ya'll all let me get away with it and never question my sensibilities... maybe its because you don't want me to bid off?

But that aside, imho I see Boeing built one hell of a fleet in the 737, 747, 756 and 777.

However, the Boeing of today is like a 40 year old that just wants a paycheck and not a career.

Hence, scandals, waste, unwise planing base on school book theories, hesitancy and incompetence.

Not until our debt is knocked down. He wants Delta to be an investment grade company.

I am in the "If it ain't Boeing, I'm not going" camp, but in the highlighted case, Airbag beat the snot out of Boeing. The BA fleet is very very good... durable... logical systems and all that, but the commonality that Airbus has is an airline managers' wet dream.

What ever happened to the mythical 10 A330s that we were supposed to get in the last year or so, on the open market? Oh yeah, that Captain I talked to also mentioned that the A330s also come in a freighter version. I said I thought Delta didn't want to do cargo, and he stated Delta didn't want the old 742s to do cargo. Just a rumor, though! WHATEVER with a big W done with my fingers!

Lets see:
  • Dump Leased 757
  • Lease new A321
  • Save 17% on gas

It doesn't get much easier than that, especially when Airbus helps get out of the 757 leases....

Cheers

Or Fedex/UPS willing to take them at a good price.

I'm thinking that the A321 is going to be one hell of a pig, especially on the transcon legs. I'm sure it can go coast to coast, but initial cruise altitude will probably be in the high 20's to low 30's. Doesn't make for a very good ride on those "weather days". Same issue with the 767-400 and the 757-300 I guess. Anybody ever flown a 321? Is it the same wing?
