Having heard them on the radio a bunch heading to the west coast from PHL they'd often level off at FL280-300 and apparently it's about 500fpm from 25,000 to there!

Speaking of great video's, anyone who has a teen-age daughter will appreciate this. Neil Young (Jimmy Fallon) and Bruce Springsteen. Its classic.

Pretty sure it is the same wing, just think, less radiation at the lower altitudes.

I've always thought aviation was about "Higher, Faster, Farther". Seems like these days it's "Lower, Slower, Not Quite As Far". It's disappointing to see the next generation of aircraft designed by bean counters. 40 years ago we had the Convair 880, the 747, the 727, the Concorde. One would think the extrapolated trend line would lead to something we could only have dreamed about. An overly long 737 and a re engined A 320 is a sad testament to all we have lost. This is the best we can come up with? That just reeks of fail.

I say that because Delta has a lot of Airbi via a merger and that's how that fleet is viewed. It's a different thing to have Delta order new ones for themselves. To steal one of the American legacy carriers, even though its not the same management as before, that was once a part of the gentleman's agreement to be all Boeing would be a win that Charlie Sheen would envy.

Not to mention, do that before that tanker deal is awarded and leverage it.
RA was on the management team that took delivery of the A330s, as far as I can tell if RA wants Airbii we will get them regardless of what mgmt ppl below him prefer (Think pushing without numbers). Thats the only part of this management team that Airbus really needs to worry about and they have an established relationship with him.

You're right. The 767-400 has that problem in a big way. Under-powered and not enough wing. Boeing stretched it to the breaking point.
Everybody else on the Atlantic tracks will be reporting smooth rides at FL350 to 390 while the 76-400 is getting pounded in the top of the clouds stuck at 310 and unable higher.

Airbus also wants to try to slip some A350s in there too as a part of the deal, maybe taking away some of those newer A330s. No 321s unless they put more powerful engines on them. I'm in 320 initial and no one here has heard of any rumors of new airbuses. Could be true, but no one here seems to have heard of it, or is keeping quiet
