Launch,

No complaints from me. I am enjoying life & job to the fullest. This "gig" is very nice. But I know this career can become much better with a little hard work from our union.

Who said I want to be at Delta?

I mean really - 14 year upgrades, carrying bags up stairs for 55-year-old cat ranchers, watching Republic fly "my" old routes, grumpy ol'timers grumbling about SkyWest and Compass getting airplanes, and $40,000 a year - I already have all that at Comair. ::BI-WINNING:: :D

Now if they throw in some underboob, I'm at Delta in a heartbeat.

Sorry for hijacking the thread guys.

14 years will seem quick at SWA here shortly.

Only three places that may see quicker upgrades are LCC, AMR(may be) and if they are around Virgin America, but you would be doing it for what a 767 righter seater makes here at DAL.

Heck we have guys that could have upgraded many moons ago sitting in the right seat of International Wide Bodies, and you know what, they make more, and have more time off. It is not necessarily about the seat here. At the regionals it is a different QOL because of the pay, here it is a mix.

My post was meant to be sarcastic; of course I'd leave Comair for any of those places, DAL, or another dozen you didn't name. Just biding my time until the great "retirement suck" kicks in.

Where to start... it's not 14 year upgrades, less. 12 maybe, and remember we didn't hire from 2001 to 2007. The only time I carry the bags up or down the jetway is in neat places like Barcelona or Moscow, and they all ain't 55 years old. We just hired 1000 FAs - many are young and motivated. The routes aren't "mine" - they are what the company wants to do with them, the contact specifies who flies what. The old timers aren't grumbling about Skywest and Compass, they are complaining about Obamacare in one hand and how they can't retire because they don't have health care in the other. I've never made $40,000 at Delta - first year pay was way above that. And the smallest plane I've flown here is the 757-200. Everyone has their reasons for being where they are - I like Delta.

OK, you sold me.

C'mon guys, even with the Charlie Sheen and Smiley, you think a beat-down regional guy is serious that he wouldn't leave Comair for Delta? That was my best JoeMerchant impression ever.

I better just go into the witness protection program...

I can say that as I sit in this stinky lounge chair under F9 in MSP.

Ya know, you can hold a commutable line on the ER in NYC. You're only a few numbers behind me. Although, the chairs in JFK can be a bit stinky too.
