Anyone have any idea why they would activate an NYC reserve pilot to finish up an ATL rotation when ATL has plenty of reserves?
When it passes thru NY. The base origination/distinction of the rotation doesnt seem to have any bearing on reserve utilization anymore, even though it should. It seems to be whoever is closest.

Just doesn't make sense to me that they would use an NYC reserve (Where we only have about 5 RES pilots on) to cover the trip when ATL has about 20-30 RES pilots on.
If you have 5 SC pilots sitting in the lounge in NY, thats a certainty the ATL trip will be covered with a GS.
Generally speaking, you have to move whole groups of X days or move the last one or two X days in a group over to the next group. As someone else stated you can't create new groups of days off. Remember that moving X days comes after all the regular line holders have done trip drops and other reserve pilots have done PDs (personal drops). If there are lots of available reserve pilots, it might work. Good luck!
RS stands for Reservation Sales. (At least that is how I recall it. It is not Republic)
ATL is actually short this weekend, and I can see them using a NYC reserve for that reason. There have been a few GS go out this weekend in ATL. That is after having 50 reserves avail at the start of this week.
Remember guys, new formula. It is not that staffing has changed, it is that the formula used to get to that number has changed.
