I suppose the FAA will just look the other way and not consider it a safety issue during the "transition" if most of the instructors decide not to move to ATL and not to instruct (at leaston the 747 and Airbii)
YGTBKM.... tell me that this is TIC. It's not like any of these airplanes require any special knowledge to teach in a box.. or that they are even all that rare.. There are plenty of people that can do that job.

Fine.. he retired. If he doesn't want the job, he can go fishing or practice his Walmart greetings. I like corporate knowledge as much as the next guy, but I don't want my union negotiating a benefit for non members. They want hotel rooms and such, it's their problem.

I think there is a little leverage here to get this back if ppl decide they won't instruct and have to pay their own way.

P.S. I am NOT an instructor.
Should have clarified - should be for ALL SLI's. I want the best experienced IP's on the aircraft where ever they live - ditto all the fleets. And if they were ALL SLI we would create more pilot jobs and not have to worry about non-members.

We PS and hotel hundred of pilots a week to training - why not SLI's?

Then why not commuting pilots?

Why would there be a distinction between SLI and other pilots who don't live in base? (honest question)

AE is coming out very soon. MSP 330 base closing, ATL 330 and 320 base opening. From a very reliable 4th floor source.

I thought when the nwa/delta merger happened a few years ago Richard promised the state of minnesota that we would keep thousands of jobs in Minnesota, and he specifically noted the bldg N training center. Interesting.

Good luck to all those Natco instructors. Good people.
He also promised that Memphis and CVG would survive. Everyone knew that over time they would be greatly reduced and that is ongoing. Shifting to one training center is the smart thing to do. I thought he would keep it open another year or two before they made the typical "Things Changed" announcement.
I believe the MSP airport loan payoff they announced is required if Delta reduces jobs in the area.

When a new thread about DPA showed up today, it was immediately moved to "Union Talk." The ALPA/Jet Blue thread is still in the Major section. If you already had time to move the original DPA thread a long time ago and then today's DPA thread to Union Talk, then you also had time to move the ALPA/Jet Blue thread that has existed for several weeks and to which I have called the moderator's attention three times now. I'm not buying your lame excuse. Sorry, but it seems obvious to me that you are practicing selective censorship. Not cool.
I believe JetBlue is defined as a Major airline. They operate 165 aircraft. If thats not a major what is?
